If your kid loves Spongebob, they will love this.
This is very much like the original version, except it's Spongebob, which in my mind makes it cuter. For all the reviews saying it's made cheap or too easy to play, I'm guessing it has been awhile since you have played with the original or you had "child eyes" at the time making everything seem much more magical and better than it really was. Operation has always been made cheap, but it's not made to leave out or play rough with. If kids play with it as it was created to be played with, and then store it safely in the box, it will be around for many years. Yes, it is very easy for most older kids and adults to remove the pieces without touching the edges, but it can still be a challenge for younger kids, those with unsteady hands, or older adults. The game is bright, cute, and fun to play. If your kid loves Spongebob, they will love this.

Works as expected
The game works as expected, although it is like the original game in that it has a thin wire and cardboard like construction with light plastic. This is not a heavy duty game, it is meant just for using and then putting away when you are finished. It was pretty much what I was expecting because the original game was the same way. Some of the pieces are a little bit difficult to get, but overall it works well for my 6 year old. He does have fun with the game, and even asked for it when we put it away on occasion. My son usually gets bored very quick with most games, so I am happy to report he actually likes this one. One time we were at the store and he was playing a guitar off the shelf, he played with it in the store so we just bought it for him since it was only $10. Well when we got home he put it in the box and handed it back to us. I know that doesn't have anything to do with the review, but this is one he didn't want to send back...

I bought one but it was missing the wrench piece and evil thoughts bucket.

Dissatisfied
I didn't like the fact that it was used game and the game cards were written on. Very disappointed!

Plays just like the original version fun and surprising.
I purchased this game for my 5 year old. Just like the original Operation game, it's fun and surprising to play. This Spongebob version plays just like the original. I really does help a child with his or her hand to eye coordination. A plus for younger kids learning to write, it allows good motor skill and muscle memory for the fingers and assist in the development of holding a pencil to write. We play this game as a family and have fun taking turns and razzing each other after setting the buzzer off.

Same game fun theme
My daughter is a SpongeBob fan and this was a ton of fun for her. We couldn't find this anywhere else and has the same fun and quality from the original Operation game I grew up with. Just with a SpongeBob theme.

Not quite what I had expected
I guess I had remembered the Operation game as a kid and thought it would be like that only Sponge Bob. Pretty flimsy and did last long so guess I was pretty unhappy. Presumed since it was Hasbro it would be ok. But just learned a lesson about buying games on line.
