Three Stars
Book is fine, just not really meant for a beginner, which is what I was looking for. YMMV

Perfect reference guide for beginnerse and advanced yogis!
My friend sent me this book a few weeks ago and I use it almost every day now! I have been practicing yoga regularly for about 6 months now and have been struggling with understanding teachers when they use Sanskrit names for the poses in class. This book has been so helpful to understand what they want me to do and what poses they are referring to! I have been trying to practice more at home and I really like the photo accompanied with the simple and straightforward instructions. Most yoga books I've gotten are too complicated and I just give up, but the brief instructions with the full size photo are the perfect combination for me, since I've just started taking yoga and I want to get really good at it now! I am going to try to do at least one of the harder poses each week. I'm going to get this book for all my friends who like yoga too!

Concise guide to yoga postures
This book combines beautiful photography with a simple, clear instruction manual to a wide range of asanas. I have come across many yoga instruction manuals in my thirteen years of teaching yoga, and I appreciate the simplicity and straight forwardness of this book. For each posture, the English and Sanskrit names are given, the difficulty level is ranked on a 1-10 scale, instruction are listed step-by-step, and a photograph shows the final posture. It is accessible for beginners, but also includes postures that are challenging for advanced practices. I will refer to this book in the future in my teaching, and will recommend it to my students who are looking for a concise illustrated guide to the asanas.

Great Reference
Daniel DiTuro and Ingrid Yang teamed together to make a great reference of more than 150 asanas. This beautifully illustrated guide to the yoga postures is suitable for all yogis who want to try advance postures and the teachers looking ideas to expand. What I really like in the books was the how the ratings are based on flexibility, strength and balance. The easiest asanas were 1 while the most difficult were rated 10. The instructions are simplified and usually have 1 to 3 steps. Each pose is displayed without any background distractions making it easy to study each pose.

Simple yet thorough!!
Get this book! Finally, a short and sweet yoga book that breaks down the most popular poses in a clear, concise, and simple way. I have practiced for years and find that most yoga instruction is too detailed and does not leave much to the student's intuition. The beautiful photos of the various yogis are very inspiring as well!

Book Review Hatha Yoga Asanas (Pocket Guide for Personal Practice)
Book Review Hatha Yoga Asanas (Pocket Guide for Personal Practice)Hatha Yoga Asanas(Pocket Guide for Personal Practice)Daniel DiTuro and Ingrid YangHuman KineticsTrade PaperbackISBN-13: 978-1-4504-1485-2174 PagesHatha Yoga Asanas by Daniel DiTuro and Ingrid Yang is the perfect companion to any Yoga practice. With over 150 asana poses in beautiful full-color photographs this quick reference guide will be useful for the beginner as well as the seasoned practitioner. Each asana begins with a clearly defined difficulty level, which range from levels 1 through 8, followed by a starting position and the page it can be found on, the directions on how to successfully achieve each position, and a full color photograph of the successful pose. As a beginner I was intrigued by the higher difficulty levels (but not tempted enough to try them) and was surprised by the quality of the photographs in the book.Hatha Yoga Asanas is a must have for those studying Yoga on an individual or personal level, whether a beginner or an instructor, and I was happy to add this supplemental, easy to use reference guide to the Healthy Living / Fitness section of my home library.4 out of 5 starsThe AlternativeSoutheast Wisconsin

"Quantity may be more but quality is good"
A nice book with clear pictures from normal poses to advanced poses. This book may become some more good if add limitations and benifits, but it is totally author's choice not related to Amazon. And my advise is..,you can see the limitations and benifits of each and every asana in google. To author & publishers ,"for best sales..,price is slightly better to keep down"., my opinion. And remaining is left to your choice. But thanks to Amazon.👍

Ok, but...
This book has lots of pictures of different Asanas with a difficulty rating. It shows their english & sanskrit names. However, it doesn't mention the benefits of doing the poses. Even though there is so much free space on the pages. It's important to know the benefits of a pose or posture on your body.
