Bulldog Cases Pistol Rug with handles

I own several Bulldog cases and have come to expect high quality, rugged, well made, and long lasting products. From my initial inspection of this large size handled pistol rug, I expect more of the same. It’s really hard to find a 16”+ rug because I’m sure it’s mostly a magnum revolver clientele but what I needed was a case that could hold my Browning Buckmark with the can attached for rapid deployment. The tree rats are toting my pears off whole and while such a large load slows them down a little, it’s usually not enough time to screw the can on before they’ve disappeared into the woods. This case is perfect for my setup including the micro dot sight on top with just the perfect amount of spare room to be able to easily zip it up without things shifting around a lot when zipped. I couldn’t have planned a better fit. There is even a Velcro flapped Form 4 pouch made of the same heavy grade woven nylon as the body of the case on the front for when I’m away from home. When you take into account the fact that this case has handles it’s a really good buy on a really great rug.

Be aware that the small rug may fit a larger pistol than you would think. I currently have my Ruger LCR in the rug and there is plenty of extra room. Ok, ok, so the LCR is a really small revolver. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, there is plenty of extra room even when a semi-auto such as the Springfield XDS is in the rug. No, both pistols cannot fit in the rug at the same time...in case you were wondering. LOL. I ordered my husband the medium thinking that is what he needed for his XDS. Now that my pink one has arrived, I realize the medium is going to be too large, so I quickly cancelled that order. I hope Amazon can cancel that so I can purchase him a small black Bulldog rug. Wink, wink, Amazon! Ok, back to your regularly scheduled program...This rug is padded and really nice. It fits in the front pouch of my pink Bulldog Range bag (see review). Also, the color is not the same as the color on the computer screen. It is actually a very dark pink, which is really nice because I thought the light pink was a little Pepto Bismol-ish and even a little cheap. It is the breast cancer awareness rug, and actually looks really nice in person.

I am very impressed by the material, color and size of this case. It fits my 22 in it with the holster. It's very well made.

All my other pistol cases were too small for my Dan Wesson 44 mag with an 8 inch barrel. This one fits great. It has just enough play in it that I might be able to fit a 10 inch barrel in it if I ever get one. You won't be able to safely put multiple items in this case without wrapping them in something to keep everything from scratching your gun, but it does have a small utility pocket on the side that you can fit smaller mags in. However, you won't be able to put your loaded speed loaders for large caliber revolvers in it.I have no complaints about the stitching, wrap around handles, or zipper. Everything seems to be well made and an excellent value for the price. I've never had any issues with Bulldog items.

It fits my 6" long barrel Diamond Back special revolver. There's no where to store any accessories like ammo, cleaning kit, but the gun fits and it's easy to carry.

The media could not be loaded. This review is based on the medium sized case.Measurements: ~8.5 inches (at tallest) and 14 inches wide (21.5 cm by 36.5 cm for the non-imperials). Total thickness ~1". Pouch measures about 3"x5".Features: two nylon handles, a pouch, a zipper and some foam padding.Analysis:To start, this fits my Ruger Blackhawk (family gun from the 60's) quite well. If I had to guess, the medium size is going to be the standard size people would buy. Most guns would fit in here. If you have a big 'ol gun, go for the large. If you have a small 9mm (or smaller) then maybe try to small.The pouch is big enough to fit a small handful of ammo in (say a box of 50 .22lr). Probably not big enough for most magazines that hold more than 7.The zipper seems to be relatively durable. The cloth that it's attached to might worry me a little bit if this would receive heavy use.The reason I gave this 4 stars: The foam is at best 1/2 of an inch thick. The listing claims 1 3/4" thick total foam. So it ends up easily being 3/4" thick.The foam is enough to protect it if you use to just to store in your gun safe or upper part of your closet. It's great for taking to the range and back. However, there's not enough foam that I'd feel ok dropping the gun (in the case) [shouldn't be dropping a gun anyways].I was a little saddened to see a few strands of thread were already coming loose.Impression:Great gun case for the cost. It seems it will provide enough protection from minor insults. I took it to the range yesterday and it is a good case for what you probably need.

I love this pistol case. It matches the range bag I purchased (also from Bulldog). The outside pocket is really too small for anything ( I haven't found anything that fits in it, except foam earplugs) Great size for my pistol and an extra magazine. I do wish there was a divider or pocket inside to keep the pistol and magazine from rubbing together, but the cushion interior is adequate to keep both from sliding around. Durable materials and construction.

Really nice. Bought small to fit J frame revolver with 2.25" barrel. There is a little extra room but not too much. The small is between other brand's small and medium. The 3 other brands I tried, would only fit a small semi-auto or snub nose revolver. The padding is 1 3/4" total as described. In other words, 1 3/4" width when closed & empty, about 3/4"-1" padding on each side. I don't know what other reviews were thinking or expecting. If each side had 1 3/4" of padding, the case would be 3.5" closed and empty. I don't thick anyone is expecting a 3.5" thick case or they would get a hard case. External pocket is large enough to fit a couple mags. Love the handles.

I bought this for my Crossman 1322 and it fits and protects it perfectly. The outside pouch just holds a tin of pellets and the carrying handles make it convenient to carry. For the price, a no brainer.

This pistol case certainly fills the bill. It is well made and has ample space for my Colt 1911A.It is well padded and I like the fact that it has an extra pouch for magazine or accessories.Reccomended.
