Review: 5+++ stars companion novel that truly completes this amazing story - I have been anxiously waiting for this book since I read The Lonely many months ago. I am not one for reading "his" POV books but after reading several books by this author, I really love her stories and her writing style and wanted to give it a chance and know more about their story. I am so not surprised, not only was I pleased with this companion novel, I was seriously impressed with the story and it was beyond any expectation I had for it. This book truly was a brand new totally different book with only a few familiar parts and scenes from the The Lonely. And you may ask how could that be, and my only response is Only Tara Brown could pull that off! ~~~~~~~READING THE LONELY FIRST IS A MUST BEFORE YOU READ LOST BOY~~~~~~~ This book for me was all the amazing, interesting, heartwarming and mind blowing parts that were missing from The Lonely, although until I read Lost Boy, I truly did not realize that they were every missing. Getting his POV truly completes this story and see all of the characters in a completely different light, I loved them all in The Lonely but truly fell in love with each one of them in this book. This book is truly hard to describe without giving the whole thing away, and to categorize it, there truly is only one genre and it's the genre Tara Brown . This book is a romance with a dark story line to it that will make you laugh and feel so good inside, then have you gutted and ugly crying and then moments later having your mind completely blown when you least expect it. The Lonely and Lost Boy are both books that you need to read blind, not knowing what is going to happen and when. The Lonely is not my normal read but decided to give it a shot and absolutely loved it and absolutely loved Lost Boy. These books were so unpredictable and so fresh and different from anything else I have read, so glad I came out of my comfort Zone This book starts off with Eli grown up and after many years of searching for Em, has finally stumbled across her name by coincidence. We then get to see all that he has done to protect her and to help her. WE get to see his demons, his thoughts, his feelings and his emotions with everything he did, something we didn't get to see in the Lonely and my reaction to things he did and said was a complete 180 in this book compared to the Lonely. Even though it's his POV, you truly get to see a different side of her in this book as well as the other characters. Again like I said, it was like reading a brand new book that had some familiar parts. Going into the book after The Lonely I was truly TEAM SEBASTIAN, it took all of a few chapters of Lost Boy to be TEAM ELI and nothing now will ever change that. This book has made me fall so much in love with his character. I thought of Eli as weird in a creepy sort of way after The Lonely, after Lost Boy, Eli is still weird but totally in a romantic heartwarming way. I really loved and enjoyed learning and seeing so much of their relationship and how it grew from when they first were at the "dirty house" till the end of this book where they get to be more "normal and get their HEA. I love how much he loved her and how much you saw that in all that he did. And there were so many great new scenes in this book, dark ones, sad ugly cry one, hot ones, and totally heart warming swooning ones. To say this book is just "his POV" does not do it justice, it truly is a companion novel and not just a rewrite of THe Lonely but his POV, like many of the other "HIS POV's" have turned out to be. Never did I find myself saying, yeah I know that, already read it, i could not put it down cause you never knew what was going to happen next, like all Tara Brown books, you are constantly left sitting on the edge of your seat from start to finish. As a final thought, these two books are absolutely unbelievable and come together to make on AMAZING story. Truly a 5++++++ Star read that will be definitely added to my All Time favorite shelf and will be continuing to step out of my comfort zone and read more of this author's work, this lady can write some awesome stuff.
Review: The other half of the story - Enjoyed this companion novel to The Lonely. Reading the story from his perspective gives a more detailed understanding and a better connection to the chemicals. Four stars instead of five for minor issues such as unintended perspective flaws, using mine instead of hers several times. The standout character for me was Stuart. We learn he is just as broken and still mire complete than either Sarah or Eli, and yet he never steals the show.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic story - LOVED IT!
*by A***R on July 25, 2013*

**You must read The Lonely prior to reading this book** I loved this book so so so much!!! This book was exceptionally well-written! Tara has done a great job with writing this companion novel. Yes, there are scenes that we read in The Lonely, and yes, we already generally know what happens. But this is so much more than just a retelling of a previous book, it's more than just rewriting everything from Eli's point of view. I truly felt like I was reading a different story - Eli's story - of a lifelong love, his journey to forgiveness, redemption and happiness. There is so much more to him and what he had gone through than what we are shown in The Lonely. In true Tara Brown style, I was also thrown some expected-but-unexpected curveballs throughout the book - I loved it! I loved Eli in The Lonely and didn't think I could love him more than I already did. But this book did it, I love him SO much and it was amazing to see all that he had really done, the lengths he had gone through to find, protect, and save Sarah. It broke my heart to see how his childhood had affected him and all that he had to endure to get Sarah through her treatments. It also pissed me off to see, from his point-of-view, some of Sarah's behavior!! I know she had a lot to deal with and had gone through major trauma, but ugh!!! I hated, absolutely detested, seeing Eli so broken-hearted because of her! I still felt really bad for Sebastian, poor guy loved Sarah a lot, he was a really nice guy but unfortunately he was more of a "step" for her in her recovery process (and he wasn't all we thought he was in the Lonely, either). I fell in love with Stuart, he's just as broken as Eli and I *need* to know his story too! He was a true and loyal brother to Eli and was the one person who truly understood him. Shell, she was a good friend to Sarah and really what she needed, but man she was another one who really pissed me off in this book. This book took me for a ride, it had me feeling so many different emotions. I was happy and laughing then next thing you know I'm crying and upset and so heartbroken. I couldn't put the book down, I was entranced...even though I knew how the major events would eventually play out, there was so much more revealed in this book it really is a different story. It hooked me and I still had just as much anxiety for what was going to happen as when I read the first book. Although I still want more of Eli (I seriously slowed down my reading at 90% to try to prolong the book), I loved the epilogue - it wraps up their story perfectly. Lost Boy is a definite must-read...it's one you will not regret and never forget.
