Sony VMCUAM2 USB Adapter Cable (Black)

Works well with some drives not others. I have a 320G SATA and a 100G IDE(2.5) drives in external USB enclosures. This works fine with the SATA to USB, but not the IDE to USB. It does seen to work with a 3.5 inch desktop drive in an enclosure. Try different drives if you have problems.We recently went to Disneyland, and I took this along with the 320G drive. Each night at the hotel, I would copy that days footage to the drive. Transfer rates were slow, so I would set it up and go to bed. Another thing to consider, it copies the files, it does not move them. You will need to remember to delete them off the camera once finished to reclaim your SD card. Also, you have to buy Sony's external power supply to use this, I suppose it needs to be able to supply enough power to the camera and drive for everything to work.All in all, I would recommend this. I was able to have a single 32G SD card, and not worry about running out of storage. I would eventually love to try this with a big thumb drive, so I don't have to bring as much on our next vacation. But those are just to pricey at the moment.

One of the reasons I purchased the SONY 4K camcorder was for this feature.Record a bunch of fun video.Plug this adapter cable in to the Sony camera, plug my USB 2TB seagate drive into the usb connector.SONY camera <-- VMCUAM2 adapter <-- USB drive.Turn on the sony Camcorder and press a few buttons on the display and a while later all the data is copied to the USB drive.Erase the data from the camcorder and repeat.(I did have the charger plugged in while I copied the data, re-charged the battery as I was copying the data)

It was exactly what l wanted. Works as it should, and was very quick to send.

The cable worked perfectly . I do recommend that you use a high speed disk drive or USB 3.1 stick if you want to backup large videos

perfect, works with sony ax53 camcorder to draw files to an external HDD

does not fit the phone it is supposed to and it was so cheap and nasty I could not justify the cost of my time to send it back to get a refund

Does what I needed it to do. This when connected to Sony HDR CX450 camcorder allows direct copying to Seagate portable hard drive with out the need for a computer. Handy when travelling light and need to back up.
