I have been a die-hard Dark Crystal fan since I was a kid and I absolutely loved the new Netflix series. This book beautifully details the series development and the production process with vivid illustrations of concept art and behind-the-scenes photos. Now I totally want to watch Age of Resistance again to take a closer look at all of the amazing ways Thra and its inhabitants were created and brought to life.There was one noteworthy thing regarding Deet that escaped my attention: because she lives underground, her eyes are bigger and darker than other Gelflings, which created problems with the animatronics. Since her sight is weak, her ears are larger to compensate, so puppeteers conveyed more expressive reaction through the movement of her ears.I also enjoyed reading about what was borrowed or repurposed from the original film. And the prospect of another series is incredibly exciting! This gorgeous book is a must-have for anyone who grew up a fan of the world Jim Henson created which was so stunningly expanded in Age of Resistance.

I keep seeing information online about how do many people want a second Dark Crystal television series to complete the first one but those same people have no idea how much goes into making just a single episode. Within the pages of this book, you'll begin to understand the depth and hard work of the creators.

If you love the new addition of the tv show to the series this behind the scenes is for you. I will not my book had very slight damage to the top corner edges and book jacket. Otherwise is fine.

I got this as a gift for my sister who is a huge Dark Crystal fan. She was born when the first movie came out , was named after it, and has been a fan ever since. Needless to say, she absolutly loves this book based on the new series. The artwork and extras in this book is something else. The book is very well put together, and the pictures are beautiful. She was very happy to have it for her collection, thirty something years in the making, and growing.

After watching this Fantastic series on Netflix. I really want there to be a Season 2, that connects to the original movie? The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance art book by Daniel Wallace, is now part of my Dark Crystal collection. The book itself goes into great description of who/what the creatures of Thra are, and explores other facts about the TV series; so in other worlds -- get this book if you are a die hard Dark Crystal Fan. So very happy with this book. Not damaged and was packaged well. Beautiful photos and details as well as art and set design. Sells like a good book too ☺️. To bad Netflix SUCKS and won't make anymore.

So very good! The Dark Crystal: AOR is a deeper look into the history of Thra and this book is a deep look into the continuation of the Henson legacy. A must for a fan or one in love or seriously curious of how his creations and legacy live on with attention to the new material and series. Get this beautiful book.

If your loved one does not have this and they are a Dark Crystal or Jim Henson fan, GET THEM THIS BOOK. DO IT.

O filme Cristal Encantado de 1982 causou-me uma enorme impressão quando eu era criança , fazem alguns anos que as notícias , primeiramente sobre uma sequência , anunciavam podermos passar mais um tempo no complexo mundo do filme. Agora com a série da Netflix(que infelizmente não irá produzir o final da trama em uma outra temporada) temos o universo do Cristal Encantado expandido numa prequência fabulosa , ricamente produzida não só com uma beleza visual fantástica mas com uma trama emocionante , elaborada e cheia de detalhes. Numa primeira avaliação , esse livro contém todo o processo de produção da série , com belas imagens de bastidores bem como desenhos de produção.Mesmo pra quem viu o documentário de making off da série na Netflix recomendo este livro como uma expansão sobre a produção.
