FUN TO DRAW: KNIGHTS & CASTLES

My elementary-aged son has always loved knights, medieval combat, and the like. I taught him how to draw knights in armor with weapons in my own way but he didn't seem to grasp it due to some of the complexity of the armor pieces, especially at his skill level and experience. But this book was just right for him and he was drawing knights over and over since getting it. It really does a good job of breaking down EVERYTHING into basic shapes like squares and rectangles and shows step-by-step what to add on next. I hope they make another book with different knight designs and maybe even other warriors from around the world like Samurai, Viking, and Spartan/Ancient Greek.

We ordered several books like this, but he seems to draw best using this book. I do wish it have a few more steps to make it a little easier. I love how each new part of the picture is in red. The other books are all in black so it can be confusing to a toddler as to what needs to be drawn next. The red additions really help.

My son has been drawing since Easter 2020 almost daily. This book is so easy and uses basic shapes to make the castles and knights. Very colorful and easy to understand. A very good book on “ how to draw”.
