DiabloSport U7778 Predator PC Interface Kit

It was exactly what I need to transfer data between computer and tuner.This item was brand new in the box and worth the price.

On my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I plug my predator into the ODBII port and it would not install a tune because the factory ECU needed an update. the only way to update the factory tune with the predator was to connect it to a PC, install the diablo sport programs, and let it download the update from the internet. Luckily I had ordered this kit with the programmer. This is a must have item if you purchase the programmer. Worked well with windows Vista. Only complaint is the USB connector does not fit tight like a quality connector should. But this does not effect the operation of the kit. You can buy the serial to USB cable from Radio Shack, but this kit includes the needed Power supply to run the programmer out of the vehicle to update the programmer.

...worthless. Basically you're gonna pay thirty bucks for a wall-wart power supply. The problem with this kit is the series to USB adapter cable ...or more specifically, the bogus chipset installed in the series connector end of the cable. There is one company, Prolific, making the chipset and driver that allows this interface to work with your computer. The driver installs properly but because this cheapo cable has a counterfeit chipset embedded in it, the driver will not recognize it. This is a known issue. If you go to the Prolific website here ...[...]...you will find both the current driver for the chipset, instructions for it's installation and a warning about bogus chipsets and what happens if you've got a cable with one. This kit comes with one of these cables. And all the indications of failure listed on the Prolific website occur when trying to use this cable.So, after you've shelled out your thirty-plus smackers for about $15 worth of stuff, you still have to get a good working cable with a genuine chipset in it. Purchased to go along with the U7775 DiabloSport Predator. A bit expensive for an adapter and piece of cable but necessary for logging the Predator to a laptop for tuning. If you need to datalog a vehicle for tuning this is a must have for the Predator tuner.

1st off Amazon has a great price on this.After receiving I had to figure out a few things.You have to download the USB driver, Downdloader software, and updated CROM fileYou have to use the Drive Manager to make sure the PC recognizes and installs the USB driver at the correct baud rate.Once you get this done the PC with be able to find your tuner and install the CROM update.I found some great info at he Diablo forum site.

I didn't actually lose my cable though, I bought my predator tuner from a friend. He sold it to me cheap since he didn't have the PC connection cable for it, but I found this one on amazon and it worked like a charm. Saved me a lot of money!

This kit is a little bit pricey for equipment you well need to update your flash tuner . But in the real world ac/dc power supplies are indeed pricey . But I could have purchased a generic serial cable from [...] for [...] . But everything works as intended and compatibility with the flash tuner is guaranteed .
