It has the exact sound that was used on songs from the 70's Like "Honky Tonk Women" from the Rolling Stones, "We're an American Band" from Grand Funk Railroad, "Hair of the Dog" from Nazareth, 'Don't fear the Reaper' from Blue Oyster Cult, 'Get Down tonight' from KC and the sunshine band. I tried out many other brands like Pearl, Meinl , Etc, and all of those brands had a weird metal overtone ring to them that was just too annoying. You can't go wrong with the LP Black Beauty, Its a classic legend.
