This was bought in a hurry prior to jetting off to the sun.It fits me well and the string can be stowed by just tucking it into the space above your head if required. The side press studs are useful.The hat is a good size to shade all round without being too big. It easily folds/screws up and the fabric has a substantial and durable feel to it. Perspiration seems to wick and dry very well. This is a very good sun hat at a ridiculously low price for what you get.A durable and practical sun hat.good detailing. What a great product. Real cotton and in a ripstop weave for durability. It is indeed double layer material on the top and sides of the hat. This makes it an ideal candidate to take a waterproof fabric spray. Even without a fabric spray it kept my head dry in the rain. In the summer it will be fairly cool to wear and keep the sun/ heat off my head. It is indeed on the small side. But my head is on the smaller side for a man. So the hat fits me fine. If your head is on the larger size the hat will be too small. Who remembers Indiana Jones? Well this is kind of hat he would wear. Swashbuckling his way around the desert, defeating ne'er-do-wells, liberating holy relics and maidens in distress (or that dress). This is a great hat for the adventurer, buccaneer or desperado. If you are one of these, or perhaps all three, you should buy one of these hats.

I am not a great fan of the style but I knew how it looked when I bought it so I can't complain. What I was looking for was a sun hat that stays securely on when I hike on windy days and that is easy to clean. It works well on both accounts. It is a little big for my head and I'd like if there was a way to customise this a little but other than that it keeps my face, eyes safe on days when the sun is too strong to put my trust on sunscreen and sunglasses alone.

The hat arrive promptly and in excellent condition; a perfect fit on my head, with a broad brim, ( I can't see any way of adjusting the head band ) and a draw string . The fabric looks and feels excellent quality, and it is beautifully finished.

This was bought to replace the previous sun hat I’d gotten for my Dad after he’d mislaid the old one. This one is better with a bigger brim and a toggle which can be used to secure it so it’s less likely to be blown off as once happened with the old hat. Easy to pack into you luggage or to carry by the chin strap. Classic style.

Very small. Doesn't get close to fitting 22" head. Otherwise OK. Good value for money if you've got a small head. Oh the perils of buying online without being able to try on.

Hat is good quality. It fits me perfectly but if you have a smaller head I think you'd find it too big. Works well keeping sun off my face but it doesn't make your head too hot either. Would buy again!

Excellent hat for sun, sand and wind-protection.Used it in the mountains and desert. Well made, good materials. Good value.UpdateI've put it in the machine on a 30c wash, no problems at all.Would like to have some washing directions, that would gain it the extra star.As it is, I'll hand wash for safety.
