It matched pretty well
I bought this so I could tape the edge of my footbox on my Shelby 4K series car. It was a good match and seems like it will last and not peel off. I ordered the 1 1/2 inch and come to find out I needed the 1”I tried to find 1” and orw said it will come on the next shipment in 3 weeks. Couldn’t wait so I looked at the 1 1/2” and seen that it could be cut down to 1” and not have frayed edges! Problem solved and money saved! I also got the sticky side heat shield and it is good quality also!

Excellent OEM-style heat tape for wire harness
I used this on a Camaro engine compartment rebuild, where several wire harnesses needed to be repaired. There were a couple of areas that were fortified with this type of aluminized heat resistant tape. Although this isn't manufactured by GM, it appears to work similarly

Wrapped starter from close header tubes and working great

Looks good, Form follows function
There's plenty of debate on whether or not it's beneficial to wrap intake piping with this, does it reflect enough heat or does it make heat be retained more than a naked pipe?I'm sure it's a minor difference, and without extensive testing I wouldn't say this is a performance mod by any means, but this is more cosmetically pleasing than a black plastic pipe (turbo volvo S60's have an over the engine charge pipe leading from the turbo to the intercooler)15' was enough for about 4' of wrapped pipe with some overlap and some curves.

Very easy to apply. Very effective at keeping the heat out.
I cleaned the transmission tunnel underside and applied this using only the adhesive backing it comes with. It's easy to cut and apply on painted metal surface and stays there. The adhesive works better at warm temperatures and won't come off even when only one inch away from the hot exhaust catalyst converter. Keeps the heat out very well. NOT made to be applied directly on the hot exhaust or radiator. Apply this product on heat shrouds, body panels such as firewall, or intake pipes and manifolds in the hot engine bay.

Great heat shield solution!
This thermo-tec heat sheid tape was the answer to my problem! I had installed an aftermarket IMS 3.4 gal gas tank on my Yamaha YZ400f, and the new tank had the drain cock on the opposite side of stock, right above the exhast pipe, so I was worried about heat transfer into the new gas line. I wrapped the relocated gas line in this product along with wrapping the exhaust pipe with a heat wrap, and the heat transfer was dramatically reduced. Great product!

Great product and great price through Amazon.
Works as advertised and the price is right. I went to a couple of motorcycle specialty web retailers for help with the heat coming through my motorcycle seat. The kits they advertised were basically two or three strips of this tape or its equivalent. I got approximately 5 times as much tape with this roll for less money. By the way it works great, heat coming up through the seat on my Victory Cross Country is all but eliminated.

Seems to work, but doesn't stick after it gets hot!
I wrapped part of my header and some AN oil lines that are routed near the header on my car, prior to wrapping them I cleaned the header really well and dried it, as soon as it was dry I applied the tape. It stuck on there really good ..... that's until I started the engine that is. The exhaust warmed up and I could smell a horrible smell with smoke coming out of the tape on the header. Within minutes all the tape on the hot exhaust became loose and starting coming off. The tape on the (cooler) oil lines is still intact. It seems like I got a ~10 degree F drop in oil temp from it. I would not buy this tape again for an exhaust or anything that will get hotter than 350F.13 JAN 2014 update:Less than 800 miles later, the tape on the oil lines that are near the exhaust also came loose (the oil lines had been cleaned the same way the header was). I guess it couldn't handle the heat coming from the exhaust about 3/4" away from my oil line.
