Great resources for beginners
I gave this book a 5 star rating even though it wasn't what I expected. It is a great reference for beginners. It teaches the beginning stitches that every other stitch is based off of. Then it teaches 7 more complicated stitches. There are 8 "real" granny square patterns in increasing difficulty. I haven't crocheted for about 7 years so a refresh for me is exactly what I need. I highly recommend this book if you are a beginner or just getting back into crochet

Granny square crochet book.
WOW a 2nd book of granny squares to make. It is fantastic. I’ve made several of them already and are beautiful. Will make a beautiful afghan.

Easy to Follow

It's okay...some patterns are not right.
I hesitated on a 2-3 star. It's a good book for beginners but I was frustrated that one of the first patterns I did was wrong. The traditional granny square says repeat 2x when it should be 3x. It says it in the whole pattern. Ended up having to call my mother with 40+years of experience to tell me I wasn't crazy about it being wrong! Also the book came with a horrible smell and I had to let it air out outside to smell better. I thought it was a one off but did see where others had the same issue.

Great for beginners wanting to expand.
Cute book. Good for people with basic skills wanting to expand. Some of the written instructions I did have to google. But once I figured out things I didn’t understand written rise, have made a few blankets with different squares. Great purchase for beginners.

Easy to follow
The steps are easy to understand and follow as a beginner. I like that the book breaks down all of the common stitches and how to do them before diving into the granny square patterns. The only thing I wished was that there was more granny square patterns, hopefully they can make another one with just granny squares.
