Spot on!
In the introduction of her book, Dr. Freed says: “You are receiving a magnificent gift, and with it comes an ethical responsibility. The knowledge in this book will give you what you need to dramatically transform your relationship to yourself and others—a laser-like insight into what makes you tick and into what truly motivates others.”I’ve known for a few years that we are so much more than our Sun sign. Though I wasn’t exactly sure how to understand and work with all my other signs.Dr. Freed’s book has taken care of that. I was astonished at the accuracy of each of my signs within the planets as I read them. She breaks each sign/planet down into what she calls, primitive, adaptive and evolving. In being honest, some of the primitive for my particular signs were difficult to read. But the reality is that they were true.Through transformational work I’ve done over the years I’ve learned to discern and take things such as this as opportunities to grow. Reading the adaptive and evolving descriptions is something I was able to glean how far I’ve come and also what I can do to become an even better human being.I really appreciate the psychological aspect Dr. Freed brings to the table with astrology. Her book helps us to see ourselves from a different and much deeper perspective than the simple and often not useful horoscopes that only include our sun sign.I’ve brought this book to the attention of my women’s circle and hoping we will use it as a monthly discussion and take advantage of the exercises at the end of the chapter. If not, I will definitely be doing it on my own to gain deeper insight.

Astrology with Depth Psychology and Community Engagement
As a therapist who recognizes planetary influences I was fascinated to read this book which describes the psychological levels of planets in the astrological signs. Exploring primitive, adaptive and evolving planetary archetypes allows us to explore ourselves in greater depth. Influenced by the astrology of writer and teacher Richard Tarus, Jennifer Freed grounds the mythological aspects of astrology in sacred earth wisdom. Woven throughout the book are practices designed to deepen understanding about oneself in relation to the planet and sign. For those who enjoy group process there are even talking circle questions which can provoke social and emotional learning in a community of fellow developing astrologists. This book is a great guide for those new to astrology as well as for those wanting to take a deeper dive into personal planetary analysis. Dr. Freed has consolidated her 25+ years in the field of Astrology, Social and Emotional Education, and Depth Psychology to offer something that is new and visionary.

Joy to read and profound impact!
Dr. Jennifer Freed brings insight and personal discovery in a book that’s truly a joy to read. Jennifer’s writing style is easy to digest while explaining some profound topics. I love that she doesn’t “dumb it down” while her mastery of the subject matter and easy to read writing style make for an exciting reading journey. If you’re like me, you might even feel that Jennifer is in the room while you happily turn pages and uncover powerful and exciting new insights. I wonder if it’s her long career as psychologist that lends her Astrology expertise such impact and depth? I’m not sure, but I am certain that I’m loving discovering new possibilities!

Not deep, not very psychological
I'm a psychologist, and I sometimes use astrology with clients who are interested. This seems to me a bit of a self-helper for the relatively uninitiated. As that, it's OK, but there are better. I had been hoping for something I could use to expand my own understanding as a professional.

Most user-friendly, accessible astrology book!
This book de-mystifies and personalizes astrology more than any other book on the topic (and I've read MANY astrology books as a long-time student and aficionado). Without any prior knowledge of this ancient art, you can pick this book up and see yourself reflected both in your current greatness and in all the ways you can grow. I hope lots of people take advantage of the group questions listed at the end of the chapters - awesome opportunity for book clubs and groups of friends or families who want to go on a journey of self-discovery in good company. The writing is just BEAUTIFUL. Highly recommend!
