If you've used 3M VHB tape you know it works great. I've used it for everything from fish tank sumps to automobile spoilers and trim. This time it was to replace the knock-off double sided tape that came on my upper roof spoiler for my car. The key for this tape is to use it on non-porous material like glass, gloss auto paint (not household wall paint), metal etc. Make sure to prep the surface and do a final clean wipe and dry with alcohol before applying the tape. This stuff holds incredibly well if you do your part to prepare the surface. On my previous cars I've used it for trunk lip spoilers for over 10 years and it holds up to the weather and abuse. never failed or peels. Its my go to tape for such applications. Its not meant to be easy to remove. I bought the 0.4" width in this listing as there are 2 strips down my spoiler. one strip is .4" and the other is .5" I'm glad they sell many different sizes.

I bought this for a LED project in a outdoor gazebo. I used it to replace the doublesided tape that came with the waterprrof LED light strip that I purchased. I am glad I did. The light have been stuck up on the metal support braces of my gazebo since early June and so far this tape had held them in place in wind, rain, and heat. No sagging or failures so far. The thin foam cor of the tape is perfect for LED lights. No too thick to make the light looks odd against the surface that they are attached to but no too thin to rip and cause a failure of the adheasion. They are easy to cut and peal to stick. They are forgiving to mistakes as it does nto seem to grab so had that you can not reposition but once you press it into place it holds well. I can not speak as to if it leaves any residue when removed as I have not removed any of the LED strip yet and none of it has failed. This is a must if youo are working with 10MM LED light strip and are planning on useing the double sided tape included with them. I highly recommend useing this tape instead.

The plastic cover to the tape is extremely difficult to remove. I use tweezer's and it is still extremely difficult to remove the cover tape.

Double sided heavy duty tape. This foam tape is very strong and waterproof. Works as advertised. I would recommend this product.

No - it's NOT "Easy to remove" & that's a GOOD thing as this tape is rated as VHB ... aka Very High Bond ... came nicely packaged - "looks" like authentic 3M tape ... about to use to put my Mezuzah back up in my Honda ... should be fine ... previously didn't use a 3M tape & the Mezuzah fell of the passenger side window pillar (there isn't a "official" rabbinical way of placing a Mezuzah in your car - at least not that I could find) ... thus I use the passenger side window pillar to mount the two I have ...

I was expecting the traditional 3-M foam douple-sided mounting tape. This is weak and thin tape! I tried to attach a lightweight full length mirror to my wall, and within 2 hours, it fell down and broke!! I also used it to tape up a small tin sign, and that fell and got bent. This tape is costing me money!! It's so thin and flat, I don't see how it could hold anything other than a paper sign. I sure don't see how it could hold rope lights as it's advertised. I bought it based on glowing reviews, but there's just no way this is good tape. My walls are not textured. The surface was not cold. I held the tape in place a while. I think I will be returning this. I'll go to an actual store where I can see what I'm buying.
