Regarding battery cycles
I, like others, was confused regarding the number of battery charge cycles these batteries show. After examining the number on my battery I believe that the modem has a firmware problem that gives a meaningless number, the same way that the status page shows that there is no battery installed. My battery states that there has been 463716 charge/discharge cycles. If you do some math this would indicate that if a cycle occurred once per hour that the battery would be 53 years old (463716/8760(hours in a year)) while if this occurred once per day it would take 1270 years to reach this number. Even if occurred every minute it would take 322 days.I'm not sure whether these batteries are new, old stock or recycled, I do not believe that there should be much concern over the number of cycles shown, it's a standby battery that enables you to make an emergency call if needed and is not designed for constant use.Added 07/10/2019Don't forget, even with a back-up battery installed in the modem you WILL NOT be able to make calls unless you have a standard phone (one that does not depend on AC power in order to work) plugged into one of the phone ports on the back of the modem.

Works for Arris TG1682G
Comcast required a cable modem change to a TG1682G, so I needed a new battery (of course). After about 45 days of use it's showing 92% remaining charge after 20 cycles, so it seems to be doing its job, and the cost is certainly better than an OEM branded one. The backup is only really good for the Comcast phone service. However, it's worth it for me since my home alarm system uses the phone, and a loss of phone comm causes the system to alarm (it thinks the phone line has been cut), which scares the daylights out of anyone in the house.

THis fit my Arris TG1672 exactly and had no trouble installing it. I noticed that someone said that it only charges 80% but I don't know how to check that. But, have had no issues to date. Why not a 5 start rating? I don't give 5 stars unless I have had some experiences with it for a few months.

Great low cost replacement for the Arris battery
I installed this battery in my Arris Surfboard SVG2482AC router. No problems installing it. Note: as the literature that comes with the battery says you have to wait a week or more before the battery becomes fully charged. This is normal. It is also normal that the Arris Surfboard app will say that "no battery" is installed even though one is. However the battery light on the front panel of the should be lite. After the battery was installed for about a week I unpluged the AC power from the router and the battery kept my phone service active with no problems. Also the customer support of XDXDUSA (the supplier of this battery) is top notch. They do everything to make sure the customer is satisfied. I give them and the battery 5 stars.

Jury still out
Not sure if this battery is working properly. When I received it it was understandably charged to less than 100%; 58% to be exact. Over an evening it fully charged to 100% but this morning it is back to 58%. We did not have any recent power outages so I think this battery may be defective.Moved to 3 stars from 1 as of 6/5/17 as the battery looks to be cycling up and down. Email chat with the seller indicates that this is normal for new batteries. I will continue to update this review over time.

Don't buy this from Comcast
Seems to be working exactly like it is intended. Install took about 20 seconds, it just plugs right into the bottom of my Comcast modem. The modem immediately recognized it, and the battery light on the front went on. Its been installed for about 2 months now. I haven't lost power so I don't know for sure that it is working, but all indications are good. The Comcast tech who installed the service at my house confirmed that this is the same battery that Comcast charges something like thirty bucks for which is a complete rip-off when you can get it here for less than ten.

Backup power for outages & emergency.
Bought this for mom's Xfinity cable modem. Hoping that it'll give her backup power during outages & be able to use her phone.
