Why I Bought It I’ve used other probiotics but it was tome to switch, yet I wanted a consistent, high-quality supplement to support digestive health and overall gut balance. My diet is not fiber heavy hence needed some help. Quality & Performance The capsules are easy to swallow and have remained effective with no unusual aftertaste. I’ve noticed improved digestive comfort and regularity since taking them consistently. The CFU count (10 billion) seems just right for daily maintenance without causing bloating. Everyday Use & Features I take one to two capsules daily, at night. Make sure you take tow hours after last food intake; and always away from antibiotics (not at the same time). Here we are with another GOOD, BAD, & the UGLY review. This time, for a probiotic. As you may know, most probiotics get destroyed in your stomach juices. You have companies like Seed creating innovative ways to deliver these bacteria to your intestines where they can benefit you. However, Jarrow took the old school approach. So let's jump in to this review and see what is really going on. GOOD: Price (dirt cheap compare to so many other probiotics, and I got it with a Prime discount) Extremely Effective (instantly see great results, especially when it comes to eating vegetables and moving your bowels) Packaging (each pill is individually sealed) Does not need to be refrigerated Easy to swallow capsule (not to small, not to large) Enteric coated (breaks down over time) 8 different strains (average probiotic offer 6 at best) BAD: Only 5 billion CFUs (Average probiotic on the market is offering 15 Billion+) UGLY: No Prebiotics in the capsule (this is okay as you can easily supplement this with a cup of vegetables) :T Overall, I can't recommend this product enough. I am sure that just like everyone else, you have taken x amount of probiotics to only wonder if it works. This on the other hand, I can assure you that it works and it works well. Especially if you have trouble moving your bowels or digesting your food (especially broccoli). This little guy will get you the results you need throughout the day. Don't delay and purchase these as soon as possible for better intestinal health.

I have ulcerative colitis and have had two c-diff infections in the past. My gastroenterologist suggested I try probiotics to help with flare ups and to maybe lessen the problems with c-diff. On the one hand, there isn't a lot of scientific proof probiotics help. On the other hand, it's not really going to hurt you either. With that being said, probiotics seem to help me. Jarro-dophilus was the first probiotic I ever tried. Because of my disease, I usually look for probiotics that have more than 3 strains and several billion units. This one has 8 strains of "good" probiotics with 5 billion units. To me, the higher the numbers, the better chance it will have some type of effect. Also, because of the c-diff infections, I try to get brands that have lactobacillus rhamnosus. This brand has it. The nice thing about the Jarro-dophilus is that there are 120 capsules. A lot of brands give only 30 or 60 capsules and you have to be careful because they may say take two a day. If it's 2 capsules a day, 30 capsules isn't even a one month supply. This brand says take 1 to 2 capsules a day so conceivably, it's either a two to four-month supply depending on how many you take a day. My GI doctor suggested I take one a day and only go to two a day if I'm having a flare up or other symptoms. Although it's not a big deal to me, Jarro-dophilus does not require refrigeration. I've used types that require refrigeration, require refrigeration after opening, or don't require it at all. They all have worked fine for me. If you are one to travel a lot, you may want to consider ones that do not require refrigeration. Also, it's a bit more convenient when you don't need to worry about refrigeration, especially on days you're in a rush and trying to get out the door. You don't want to get to work and then wonder if you remembered to put the probiotic back in the fridge. One thing that surprised me was that these come in blister packs within the box. I would have preferred to have them all in a bottle, but it works the same. Maybe the blister packs are more convenient when traveling. Overall, I think this is a very good product that has worked for me. My doctor suggests switching brands every so often and I tend to make sure Jarro-dophilus is in the rotation.
