Should be required reading in high schools.
This is a great book....accessible, clear, easy to understand. It's great as patient education for a therapist; as a guide for leading communication workshops, or for personal growth.

Great book!
This book is incredible. I gifted it to my old cranky neighbor for Christmas and he has been a sweetheart since! This changed his life, he wanted everyone to like him but didn’t know how to communicate. Due to this book he had a fabulous New Year’s party and has 3 new friends. Thank you to the author.

I cannot recommend this book enough. I've bought 15 copies to give away.
I'd recommend this to literally everyone. It's so so helpful in learning how to communicate your needs, how to relate with people from a place of peace and neutrality instead of defensiveness or aggression. I could go on all day but the fact that I've purchased a ton of copies for other friends and family speaks for itself. This should be mandatory reading for anyone who's a human that relates with other humans — or even just a human who relates with themselves. It's been critical in unlearning unhealthy self-talk and being more open and honest with myself about what my needs and desires are.

One of the Most Impactful Tools I've Ever Learned
This book, and the practice of NVC, have changed my life. I feel optimism, hope and excitement for creating more connection with the people I know. Although I had been studying NVC lightly for years I've started diving in more fully and I am finding that complete immersion greatly helped me to learn this technique. I guess in that way it's like learning a language. I am deeply grateful to Marshall for sharing his wisdom with me. It is helping me to meet my needs for love, connection, empathy, self esteem, transparency, authenticity, honesty, and trust.

A must in every home!
If you're looking to know how to connect from a deeper more compassionate place with others this is absolutely a must book to have/read and follow. It's actually simple with very clear instructions. In only few days it changed our relationship to be more understanding respectful and empathetic towards each other, and the surprising part was that it helped us greatly to hear and listen to our own needs. It's a fantastic book and I would recommend it to any one who's interested in being the best version of themselves.

"Excellent guide for both self-study and group practice..."
It can come across as a little teacherly at times, but the great value of this book is that it's a systematic consideration of each chapter of Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life, 3rd Edition: Life-Changing Tools for Healthy Relationships (Nonviolent Communication Guides) . I understand Rosenberg's work better because of the commentary in this book. I think it serves well as a guide for self-study, as well as being useful for a practice group that wants to center their work around the book. Lucy Leu has been there and done that when it comes to sharing NVC, and it shines through in this work.

Not a real workbook!
I'm shocked at how little use the "workbook" is after reading some chapters, especially given the high reviews - apparently those good reviews are all talking about the actual book of NVC, which is a great tool and very good read. This book, however, is such a let down. We bought the book to practice on what we learned from the original NVC book, but there's no exercise/situations or application, just how to lead a group and a bunch of questions to summarize each chapter, which is what note taking is for! Why would anyone spend the time and money to read a not-workbook to be told to do the things you would do on your own anyway?!

Great content used for teaching
Great content to use in addition to my teaching materials - absolutely love the workbook which compliments the first book.

Essential Companion
I was hesitant as to whether or not I needed this companion book to go with Marshall's Non-Violent Communication. However, as soon as I started doing the chapter review questions I knew it was, for me, a must to have the companion book. I thought I had understood what I had read - but had I fully grasped it? No, not until I did the companion review, which allowed me to fully understand as well as deepen and solidify my learning. Secondly, I really appreciated all the information provided on how to lead and facilitate my own NVC practice group - thank you Lucy!

Perfect companion to Marshall's book.
This book is a great guide to groups or individuals who are in the path to bringing Marshall's proposals to life, relationships and social transformations! I am really very pleased with all whole book.

Not what I hoped for
It seems like a test to see if you’ve read the book. Not really what I was looking for.

Very useful!
Very useful step by step guide to develop or improve NVC skills or, as the author says, get "fluent" on it!
