Viper: Fallen Angel, Book 2

This is the second installment in a trilogy all about the same couple, so you should definitely read them in order to fully follow this awesome story :) and because this is a continuation of the story, writing this review will be a bit tricky, since I don't want to spoil you about certain stuff... so if I'm being a bit vague on the details, that's the reason ;) but before we get into more specifics about this installment, let me just tell you in general what this story is all about, so the next paragraph will be spoiler free and totally safe to read by everyone, even if you haven't picked up the first book yet :)This whole trilogy is about Halo and Viper :) Viper is the lead guitarist and songwriter for the world famous rock band TBD... a few months ago their lead singer left them suddenly (by the way, you can read all about Trent in "A little bit like desire") and ever since then they are struggling to find a replacement for him... all of that changes once Halo enters the picture... ;) where Viper is dark and sinfully seductive, Halo seems to be all innocent and angelic... the key word in that sentence is "seems" ;) Halo is also about ten years younger than the rest of the guys, being in his early twenties... he's also straight, or that's what he thought, before he found himself being drawn to Viper... :) the first book in this trilogy is all about that scorching hot chemistry between them and how long it will take them to finally succumb to it... *fans herself* to say that this book was hot would be an understatement, so be warned and maybe don't read it in public if you blush easily... just saying ;) now that we have these few basic informations out of the way, let me jump into a few more details about the sequel... don't worry, I won't spoil you any vital details, so even if you haven't read the first book, it's still safe for you to continue with this review :)Like I mentioned before, the first book is all about the growing sexual tention... anticipation and what comes before you make the move... now in this second installment we get the after part... what happens after you both took that step further and decided to give it a go... :) and my oh my... *fans herself* if I thought that the first book was hot because of all the tension and angst, this one is off the charts schorching... :) because Viper and Halo together? they are explosive :) I loved to get to know them more and the fact that in this installment we got to see the sides of both of them that may not seem so obvious at the beginning... ;) Halo with his angelic face and apparent innocence can be very teasing and confident when he wants to... and Viper with his I'm-all-for-being-casual-nothing-serious will surprise you all with little gestures that betray more than his willing to say out loud... more than he's willing to admit even to himself... :) to see their growing interactions was absolutely amazing... especially if they are written in such a phenomenal way... I mean... I already love this duo's work in the PresLocke series they released previously, but I think this trilogy might be even better... *sighs happily* I adore both Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank individually, but I swear, something magical happens when they write together... :) if you wouldn't know, you would never guess that two separate people wrote this gem... their styles blend together seamlessly and in the end create a masterpiece that I absolutely cannot put down... :) besides the absolutely swoonworthy / panties-melting main couple, you cannot forget about Killian, Jagger and Slade... as in the other band members :) I could sit here and spend a few days talking all about the love I have for this story and these characters, but I won't do it, cause I don't want to spoil you every little thing and surprising turn this book has to offer... so instead I highly encourage you to start at the beginning of their journey, if you haven't done it yet, and then continue on with this sequel... it will leave you with the biggest smile on your face, that I can promise... and then we can impatiently wait for the third and final book that is coming live in just a few weeks in april :) oh, and I almost forgot to mention... can we take a moment to admire the absolutely gorgeous cover of this book? :) *swoons* "Halo" had a perfect version of how I can picture him and I was very anxious and more than a little bit afraid that the one for "Viper" will be disappointing... I mean... it's not easy to portray him... but they definitely hit the jackpot with this one... let's just say that on more than one occasion during my reading of the story I got back to that very first page to stare at him for a moment... or two... ;)

This book deserves more than 5 stars. What an aging story so far. I know book 3 is going to be just as good. I can't want to dive in.

It was great to see Halo able to not only stand up for himself but to maintain. Good for him.

Still hot, still sexy, the denial is frustrating, the banter keeps you coming back, and their love is undeniable, and I can't wait to see where the next step leads.

I am such a lover of romance and the story of two people falling in love. It makes me remember what it felt like being with someone when it’s new and exciting. It makes me remember what it’s like getting to know someone else’s likes and dislikes. A love story can make us feel so many different emotions, regardless if we have experienced them yet. Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank do that in Viper, pulling you into the story from the moment you start reading.This book brings the characters into the second stage of their relationship. Halo is charming, sweet and so utterly romantic that you want to wrap him up to keep him for yourself. I loved that though this type of relationship is entirely new for Halo, he’s not scared of being vulnerable and owning who he is. Then there is Viper, dripping his bad boy attitude, all sex and crass. He’s confident when it comes to his life, except for his feelings for Halo. He has almost a shyness about it that’s endearing. The banter between the two men is fun and flirty, and I fell in love with their relationship between those bits of lightness they had together. They are two people so altogether different that they shouldn’t work, but it does. It does in a way that is so right you don’t want the words on the page to end.One more book to go before Halo and Vipers story concludes, and while that makes me sad, being part of this couple’s journey has been nothing short of breathtaking.

Another sexy book full of heat and some angst. Again, it felt like things moved super slow. Not much happened here except some unnecessary drama. I really felt like Halo deserved better. I hope their final book has plenty of grovelling/grown up communication. I think if you're just looking for a book with hot sex then this series will work. If you're looking for a decent plot then I'm not sure I'd recommend this series. There isn't even much rockstar-ness to it. I don't think these guys even have bodyguards/security. They talk about lack of privacy and fans being crazy, yet their lives seem rather simple. Halo still lives unhindered in his crappy apartment. They catch trains and cabs like it's no big deal. And not once have they been mobbed or had any reality intrude around what actual famous people face.

Angel and Viper are burning up the sheets. Can't wait to see how their relationship grows in the next book.

I loved that we picked right back up where we were left off at the end of Halo. I don’t want to spoil anything that happens in Viper, so I am actually going to keep this review very short.My emotions went all over the place. I loved and hated Viper, the man not the book, I loved Halo, my stomach clenched in angst, my heart raced in both anticipation and dread. My eyes at one point teared up because I felt the pain like it was my very own. Halo and Viper will become permanent fixtures in your heart. If there were two people more meant for each other they still couldn’t live up to what is between Halo and Viper.I can’t wait for the next book. I need to know what is going to happen, how things are going to play out after the way we were left in Viper. This book whore needs more and she needs it right now! Make sure you have read Halo before starting Viper though as it needs to be read in order.

Jsyk, I love Brooke and Ella books. But I'm sorry I just can't all these books are predictable and jus in the samw route that doesn't mean I didn't like this book. I just wish this is different

While Halo was the foreplay, Viper is living it all out! Holy moly! Halo and Viper are hotness overload. Their chemistry is just insane.Seeing them both getting accustomed to this new situation is kinda hilarious. On the one side they are exclusive, yet talking or just acknowledge feelings drives them both nuts. Others reactions to their secret had me laughing out loud. Seeing the other guys in the band interacting with them was so amazing and a bit surprising, knowing the history of the band.We are not only seeing the relationship of Halo and Viper growing, but also get a glimpse of the rising of Fallen Angel. It’s like you are right there with them through all the steps. Being a voyeur to Halo’s and Viper’s relationship had me squirming and horny and wet. It left me breathless and needy to the point of restlessness. And I couldn’t stop reading. I needed to know where this is going. Even knowing things would turn ugly at one point, because Halo was straight til Viper stepped into his life, and Viper can be as stubborn as they can be.Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank take us one a journey that leaves you craving more with every page and even more so when the book is finished! Gladly, there’s more to come, so I’m not mad at them for finishing Viper at the point they did.

Not too sure where this book faltered. I could only give a 3.5. Both guys were struggling with what the other wanted and where the relationship was heading. There was not much discussions , what they did most was have sex. I accept they were trying to keep the relationship behind closed doors. However, that did not really come across as everything the other did made them 'hard' Sort of disappointed in this second book. Hoping the next one will bring the series to a fabulous ending

Viper and Halo, what a match.id say just read it but by golly I enjoy a stubborn journey, well sometimes lol!

It was really refreshing to read a short series that followed the 2 MCs that was well written and the character build up was terrific. The whole supporting characters were a blast and you felt their chemistry on and off the stage. Some of the lyrics were pretty darn hot and Viper was just so out of his depth when dealing with his feelings. Loved the way he constantly had “foot in mouth” as couldn’t stop sprouting all that lovey dovey crap (his sentiments) not mine!
