I just use this to break up whole nuts for my yogurt parfaits, cookies, muffins etc. It works fairly well, but seems like I really have to hit hard to get them to break apart, so I guess it’s a lighter weight than I expected.

Very useful tool. I have purchased the tenderizer because I wanted to have stainless steel and be able to use in dishwasher. It met my expectations and I have been using it since the day I have purchased the product. Highly recommend.

Works pretty good overall! Sometimes I feel like my hand is sliding off the handle a little but you are swinging it as well so it’s fine.

I tried several similar tools for pounding out meat in the kitchen, but I was never happy with any of them. Then I found this AWESOME Mallet for the Kitchen.It is balanced well, just the right weight, and made with quality!.This is the second mallet like this I have purchased, but my first purchase from Cave Tools. The first one I bought cost me more than $30 and was branded "London Kitchen". The one I bought from Cave Tools is identical in every way but cost just $15.99. At that price, I was sure that the mallet would be different than the version from London Kitchen, so I only bought one from Cave Tools, but when I got the Cave Tools mallet, I could see that it was the same. Great tool, Great price!Today I bought two more to give to my Chef School Instructors (I'm in culinary school), both of whom loved mine when I showed it to them.And, today (May 10, 2017) I bought another two to give to two colleagues that admired mine.I LOVE these things!!!

It was time--it was old, and terribly discolored. In fact, I think it was older than I am, since my mother passed it along to me.This is a good kitchen necessity. I like that it has the option of a flat side and a nubby side. I like the weight, and the handle provides a good grip. And best of all, it's SO shiny compared to my old aluminum mallet. I wish that the nubs were just a tad bigger, but I can live with it. I'm a little disappointed that it is seamed where the flat and nubby sides meet the main head, as I worry about food hiding in the seam. However, it being dishwasher safe alleviates that concern to some extent.I'm happy with it. In fact, I may buy another one as a gift so that I don't have to "pass it along"......

Likes: Made with high quality stainless steel with excellent craftsmanship. For this quality, I would have expected a much higher price. I have had aluminum mallets which turn mottled gray if they ever go in the dishwasher, and a plated mallet which I had to discard after a few months when the plating started to appear in the meat I was tenderizing, as little specs. This mallet cost about 5 bucks more, and it is solid stainless with a comfortable grip. Heavy enough that the weight of the mallet head does the job. Well balanced.Dislikes: None. It's great.

I like the design of the surfaces on the head of the mallet and the way it tenderized my beef cutlets for chicken fried steak without tearing holes in the meat. I have also used the edge of a plate to tenderize my meats but prefer the mallet. I had a Farberware previous to this one but broke the head off. Will this one last, I don't know. Was it expensive, I don't know what the previous mallet cost me so have nothing to compare it against. My mallet does not rattle and I wash it by hand. I don't know how well the head surfaces are sealed, but I do know I prefer a mallet for my chicken piccata and right now, I like this one.

this tenderizer arrived before promised and was a great addition to my kitchen. It is so easy to use as it is well balanced and really pushes down the meat. It is also wonderful to be able to put it into the dishwasher to be sure that is is sterilized before storage. I love it...

Small but heavy so easy to do the job of tenderizing.

Used to tenderize chicken breast. Worked great. Love the fact that it is dishwasher safe.
