Perfect for my family's BOBs!
I purchased these for our BOBs (Bug Out Bags) and my husband and I had a little training session for our adult children. As we all have portable stoves in our BOB's denatured alcohol is our fuel of choice. We are skilled in using fire steels to start a fire, but the permanent match is a great quick alternative.Note of caution...ensure all spark is tamped out on the match prior to reinserting. Also, do not overfill container with fuel as there will be an overflow when inserting the match. It is difficult to know when it is 2/3 to 3/4 filled, so our method is to fill to the top then use a rolled-up piece of paper towel to wick out some of the fuel, then safely discard the fueled paper by burning it or soaking with water.I hope this is helpful!

Broke while unboxing
Wife broke the top off the match trying to unscrew it.Why would this product even exist? I admit I didn’t do my research before getting. It does not fill any need a zippo wouldnt satisfy. You still have to put lighter fluid in it.The name indicates it is inert. It is not inert. It requires more fiddling with than a standard lighter and would be prone to spilling and running out of fuel quite frequently. This is stupid.

Dangerous! Do not buy!
These things are incredibly unsafe! It's a vial of ready to spill lighter fluid and a spark source. There's nothing to prevent the container from igniting when you strike the match, which is exactly what it did, not only flinging lighter fluid all over me (once without spark) and igniting the match, container and my now soaked hand in flame! Honestly, it MIGHT work if you could get the match to light while striking downward and away from the container. The instructions specifically tell you to do the opposite (because otherwise it wont work as these people have been saying). So, if you want to feel stupid until you burn yourself, definitely buy!

Good emergency match
I have been using one of these for the past 3 days lighting cigarettes. They say to fill the canister up 3/4 with fluid, but its very hard to tell where that even is, so i just fill it till it over flows and pour a tiny bit out. All of them came in great shape except for 1 with a smaller wick on them. It states that you can pull more wick out with pliars, but i had no success in doing that. It still works 90% of the time with the wick being small anyways and i would expect it to last a very long time as long as its not burned with no fluid. Id say im please with the product. *The branding does rub right off if you get fuel on it*

Trouble Starting—2nd Update
I think I read somewhere you could use kerosene in lieu of lighter fluid. I’m not sure as originally I used charcoal lighter fluid.I found lighter fluid. THe matches light with EVERY SPARK!I now rate this product FIVE STARS! This is based on the product AND the company’s superb customer focus.I wrote a less than flowery review a couple of weeks ago. See below. The company immediately responded with a fix and suggestions where to buy fluid. I haven’t try the new ‘matches’ yet but I’m giving the product FOUR STARS based on the company’s customer focus. I’m expecting to go to FIVE STARS as soon as I get lighter fluid.ORIGINAL REVIEW. So far, I'm unable to get it to work. I don't have lighter fluid. In fact Ive been to three stores so far and none carry it.I used charcoal lighter. The spark is great but it won't light the wick. I'll get some lighter fluid and report back.

5 stars for the seller
I had a lighter similar to this one some 40 years ago, and it worked great. As this 1 could. I just think it needs a filler (cotton ?) Inside to keep the fuel from just pouring out which could/can be dangerous. It can be easily overfilled. And turning it over, the fuel just pours out. Which MAY? ? be what you want to soak kindling for a fire. But I don't care for that. I would rather have a filler in it, where if you overfill it, you simply turn it over to drain the execs fuel and the excess from the wick which does not need to be soaked and dripping to work. I actually forced a small piece of cotton into 1 of my lighters, and using a small phillips screwdriver to spread it out inside so the match fits back in. Well this seems to help it work better for me, I just wish it was MADE this way. It would make it much safer to use.

Don't waste your time or money
These matches worked once really well, then the threads broke off the top turning knob to get the wick and the flint out. It might my fingers on fire more than once because the fluid splashes out while striking downward to light the wick. Oh and the oring seal leaked all the lighter fluid into my pants pocket. A total waste of money. I have a Bugout laser lighter that's way easier and just functions perfectly. This could be a good product, but they need to go back to the drawing board and redesign these lighter fluid matches

They’ve improved by adding replaceable wicks
2 things to take note of1) make sure to watch your wick don’t let it go all the way down to where you can’t even use pliers to pull some out. Edit: they made it easier to replace wicks.2) the fuel evaporated rather quickly since it doesn’t hold much fuel.
