Suite 5.0 Digital Scrapbooking Software [OLD VERSION]

Completely underwhelmed. Very few layouts are included. Apparently there are more available - if you want to pay for them, This is a user-friendly software and may be very useful software for some but I doubt I will ever use it. I've been using Photoshop Elements for scrap booking layouts but got MyMemories because I thought it would offer more. I have found more options with PSE so will be going back to it.

This is posted under Richard's name but was purchase by me -- his wife. I'm in the process of transitioning to digital photo albums with the expectation that they will allow us to revisit places we go and special times with family and friends without adding to the shelves of hardbound photo albumns that we've accumulated over the years. Unlike many/most users, my goal isn't to print the albums I create but to access them via computer, tablet and digital photo frames. I believe "MyMemories" will facilitate that quite nicely. The program is user-friendly and fairly versatile -- the "learning curve" is very reasonable. I began by using the photo layout templates provided but quickly switched over to "blank" pages which better fit my style and what I want to accomplish. There are decorative page templates one can use and many, many "packages" one can buy to augment what comes with the software -- you'll get almost daily e-mail offers for these. However, I actually find the page templates rather limiting even though many are very attractive (albeit somewhat overwhelming and "fussy"). The software comes with dozens of background options that provide color and texture behind your photo layouts. It also has easy-to-use tools to edit, crop, and augment pictures. I use the "embellishments" a LOT -- borders and small visual augmentations -- and wish there were more from which to choose; unfortunately, more don't seem to be available for purchase from the website the way entire page templates are. This is something I wish they would change. Bottom line, if you want to organize your photos digitally and add flare and panache to your presentation, you should consider "MyMemories Suite 5.0" a really good option.

I think I will like it, haven't had much time to play with it yet

I purchased this to make a quilt after trying a couple free downloads, and a two trips to a certain store, that did not work. Was very very pleased. I was able to use My Memories Suite v5 to finish the Memory Quilt on time for a 40th birthday present. It was so easy to use. I was able to make the blocks square, not just a photo sized picture, just what I need for the quilt. Collageing was very important to the project and I was not disappointed, I had no problems getting the pictures that I needed where I needed them. Loved it. So glad I found this! I have another Quilt to do and it will be even easier now that I have one under the belt. Thank you!

Maybe good for scrap booking but since I'm not into that I'm not sure. Very limited other features

I upgraded from an earlier version and I'm very disappointed. There is no longer the option to add music/narration and the option to burn to a CD is also gone unless it's hidden so well that I can't find it. Some of the new features are nice but my main reason for using this software was the fact that I could add audio and make my own scrapbook discs. I will be uninstalling this from my computer and reinstalling my earlier version. Big mistake to take those features out in my opinion!

Will not regret the purchase of this. Certainly worth the money to get the 100% use of your cutter. You learn so much more w/this instructional video.

Very east to use program and makes wonderful scrapbooks. I also make stickers and coloring books for my son. I would highly recommend this product.
