The pencil holder is a nice feature, though I find myself often taking the pencil out of the holder when I’m holding the Mini with my right hand. The top and bottom pieces feel firm and sturdy. The inner casing holding the Mini is soft and flexible yet holds the device in place. The only drawback is the weight of the case almost matches the weight of the iPad. You will lose some of the “thinness” appeal of the Mini when using this case (thus the rating to a 4, not due to product quality). But overall, it feels so much more protected than the flimsy rubber cover made by Apple...that doesn’t even cover the back.
