Crop Circles

Wow. Michael Glickman is not only witty and brilliant, but this book is so beautifully rendered and printed it is a pleasure to hold in my hand and read. The subject matter is of course controversial but important. The crop circle phenomenon is worthy of the most comprehensive and serious attention for those who are willing to open their minds to new possibilities. There are now many brilliant books with splendid photographs of these elegant examples of "something else" that is going on that I encourage the curious to read and explore them.

This book is up to the high standards one finds in the Wooden Books series. It is filled with beautiful illustrations, appealing layouts and succinct copy. The author does not engage in the ongoing battle of hoaxers vs. witnesses/believers. Instead he presents pictures and commentary on the chronological development of the crop circles from the 1980's into the 2000's; from relatively small circle formations to very complex, precise designs over 600 feet long. Some of these formations appeared within a couple of hours during the day in highly trafficked areas and others in isolated locations that were not likely to be seen. Because the book can be read in one sitting, it makes a strong overall statement about the mystery of these events.

I bought an earlier edition here, whereas later and larger ones are better. I miss seeing in big color photos the actual crop circles. This is a bit too small of a summary for a person who has been watching this phenomenon for several years. Mr. Glickman is an international expert on crop circles and this is not his latest publication.

It too a while to get but I was glad to get it. This book quite small.

This is a smaller book, with amazing graphic design images of the crop circles. This is an inventory of their varying designs. It is a fantastically well designed book that is beautifully printed. Highly recommended.

Fantastic little book with meticulously drawn and assembled examples of the best crop circles to 2005 (would have liked a new edition to bring us up to date). Still amazes me that these incredible figures appear in the landscape every year with the most phenomenal accuracy and attention to detail, with no mistakes, no evidence of trampling, nobody admitting they did them (every group has a person willing to tell), but I don't go with the aliens theory. I think they are phenomenon of zero-point energy, the 'hum' of the universe, being expressed in complex mathematics to teach us something but we are too dumb or cynical to take note. Read this little book as a taster, and then buy one of the bigger one to get the full story.

This book is lovely, very good illustrations, such a neat little book, makes me want to get more in the series.

Sums up the basic essentials, presenting and explaining them succinctly. Not only a very good starting point but also a very useful reference, with plenty of pictures/examples. Priced just right, and thoroughly recommended.
