TROVE Wallet: Moon

I bought this as a short sharp shock cure for my overstuffed house brick of a purse and was surprised just how much I could fit in it without turning it into a bulging lump. It's very well made, and it's easier to get items in and out of it than it looks.But a word of caution: if you buy the basic wallet (like this one) and love it so much that you want to upgrade to something like the cash wrap in the same range, which is beautiful and more capacious, I'd advise caution. Because that's what I did, and having tried to transfer all the contents of this basic wallet into the wrap today, I found it doesn't hold as much.This basic wallet swallowed three £2 coins, two bank cards, two paper ID cards, a driving licence, a credit card sized Midori "wafer" notebook, an OHTO Minimo ballpoint, and sixteen bank notes. It didn't even bend the cards. The resulting wad was so small and dense that it could probably bend light.So I thought the cash wrap would take at least the same load, but it doesn't –– I couldn't get all the coins and one of the ID cards in and secure the strap in the right position. And the two plastic cards bend because the elastic component with the card pull strip in it has a little bulging spine where the seam is. The basic wallet also seems to compress springy plastic banknotes better than the wrap and it doesn't have that bulging spine.This isn't meant to be a review of the cash wrap, and I can find another use for the one I bought. (It's a lovely thing in its own right.) I'm just explaining why I found that less was more in this case and why the basic Trove is the best buy. It does the job perfectly. You don't need anything more. If it can cure me of Giant Purse-itis, it must be good.

The best wallet ever. I keep five cards and two notes (for an emergency) in the wallet and it is hands down the smallest safest wallet ever. Although it’s that small you may lose it if not careful lol.Top quality and will last forever. The best

So previously I had one of those three leaf leather wallets which even with minimal items in (No cash, a week of receipt & five cards) it's bulge is unbearable for chinos so it's either take a jacket or hope for the best with a loose card & ID in pocket. No more.When I opened up the box disappointment struck "I spent £30 on this..?" Slipped my ID & main card into the centre slot, a hotel key-card into another slot & my key in the last. Shook it about a bit "Nah, this doesn't work for me" Cut forward to the next morning I try it again, this time actually slipping it into my pocket, I now ALWAYS have it on me.The tactile feel is perfect, its easy to clasp & weightless. The leather looks better with a little use. No need to root about in your pocket for it or tug for it, the (expensive) design has been refined to its ideal.It's replaced my wallet entirely. It probably won't for some people & occasionally they'll still want the bulkier monsters of the past. I can't comment on the other versions of the Trove wallet, but I'm not left wanting for any of the additional features they advertise for the slightly larger size.
