Works great
The pots hold together very well, plants are growing well in 5 gallon bucks now, with the pots inside.

The best peat pot on the market
Don't waste your time with peat pots from the dollar store. I rely on Jilly Pots for classroom use and they haven't let me down yet! They come in a variety of sizes so even though this particular pot was 4" in diameter, know that there are both larger and smaller pots available in both round are square pot formats.

Great for beginners!
I love planting my rooted clippings in this pot! So far it has been a blessing to my indoor gardening attempts. It does disintegrate, though. So, eventually you’ll have to plant the pots in the ground. Otherwise, mold will begin growing in the outside of the pot.

Great for seed starting and eventual move to a deeper pot
I use these to start seedlings and eventually plant the whole thing in a larger pot so I don’t need to pull the plant out and risk root damage. They work great. I use a small pair of scissors to make small holes at the base for drainage. When away, I put them in pans with water so they’ll continue to get water. The material can get a little weak if they’re in water for a while, but so far none has become unusable. The roots come through fine and all plants are growing well. Plus, biodegradable! Used to use plastic orchid-style pots but I feel good knowing I’m not putting plastic into the environment. Only downside is you can’t re-use, but that’s fine with me. Honestly, I think a fresh pot for every seedling is best. I’d say 80% of seeds germinate and end up as strong plants. Highly recommended if you grow from seeds.

Learned the Hard Way
There are fakers on the market. Make sure that your product has the Jiffy Pot label. I have been a Jiffy Pot fan for many years, 40 to be exact. Last year I ordered Jiffy Pots and then a couple of planting pots that said they were jiffy pots that were not. As always my real Jiffy Pot sprouted my seeds and held them till planting and then quietly dissolved. I am not exactly sure what the jiffy pots were made from but although my seeds sprouted they got root bound and the pots did not dissolve. These were the real deal.

Missing bottom
Really this is hardly worth writing about as I only needed 4 of them to start some cucumbers. They are just as described, but one of the 6 was completely missing a bottom, as though it had been sheared off. All I can say is if you need 6, maybe get two packages. You'll always use them.

Jiffy pots
I am planting my flowers in the house and these are perfect. Easy to cut if needed when planting. If I can save them for next years planting that will be great.
