My husband won't stop buying Birkenstocks
So objectively, this product is meeting expectations, hence the 5-stars. BUT, my real problem is that my husband won't stop using my amazon account to buy Birkenstocks. How many pairs does one person need?? I thought hiding the last pair would stop him, but he just bought another pair. And they're not exactly cheap! The agreement we reached was that he would not wear them out of the house, but now they're making regular appearances on date nights. This new pair of Birkenstocks showed up, and my husband tried very unsuccessfully to hide evidence of this purchase. I'm now experiencing very visceral reactions when he brings out the sock + Birkenstock combo.Anyways, I realize this review isn't helpful for anyone else, but I am hoping ALEX sees this and STOPS BEFORE HE BUYS ANOTHER PAIR!!!!

LOL! No!
My wife was looking for a comfortable shoe for work. She tries these. I love my wife and I’m a respectful, polite husband who is sensitive to her feelings. That said, these caught me off guard. When she marched into the dinning room with these on for my opinion I let out a laugh before I could stop myself. She said, “No?”I was honest, “They look kind of Frankenstein-ish. Big and boxy...kinda clunky looking.”She admitted that she hadn’t been enamored with the asthetic either. They fit her as they are supposed to and still looked like big, black, boxes on her feet. If you’re going for the Frankenstein vibe, these are a comfortable choice. Who’s to say, perhaps Frankenstein’s monster wouldn’t have strangled so many people of his feet were in these comfy shoes. He could have clunked around passing out daisies and smiling with his broken mouth all while staying true to his style.

Just buy them!
I've worn Birkenstocks for over 35 years--sandals, shoes and clogs--back when most people had never heard of them. I started wearing them for the comfort since nothing else has ever fit me so well. Some styles don't fit my feet as well as others--the Zurich model sandals have a strap buckle that hits the top of my toes and raises a sore spot. Some styles I've learned to love dearly--like the Arizona and Milano. The Boston is one of the styles that I've really loved since the beginning. Homely, clunky and lacking in stylishness, it's incredibly comfortable and practical. Like all traditional Birkenstock styles, it's made with a leather covered cork footbed that does require some breaking in for maximum comfort. After a few days of wear, the hard footbed begins to soften a bit and it will take on the shape of your foot while providing excellent support. One thing I have noticed about Birkenstock's clogs and shoes, it's usually best to order a size up from what you wear in Birkenstock sandals. My reasoning is that you will then be better able to wear socks with the clogs and utilize them as regular shoes. With sandals, you can always loosen the straps to accommodate socks but the enclosed foot nature of clogs limits this practice. Also, for some reason my feet perspire more with clogs so I prefer to wear socks except for just puttering around the house.Bostons, like all Birkenstocks, wear well. The cork should occasionally be resealed with Cork Life or Kelly's Cork Renew. If the cork becomes damaged but remains in otherwise decent shape, Cork Life or Cork Renew can be used to fill in the damaged area. If the outsoles begin to come unglued, Barge Cement will repair it perfectly. Same for the suede footbed liner. If you don't feel comfortable doing the work yourself, do an online search for places that specialize in Birkenstock repair and resoles. This might be the best option for clogs since the enclosed nature of the shoe means some parts are not readily accessible without disassembling the whole thing. Mainly, just know Birkenstocks can be repaired and can last a very long time with care and maintenance. I have a couple of pair from the early 80s that still wear well.I'm sold on Birkenstocks. I've recommended them to a lot of people and those who try them have never said they were disappointed. The prices have increased substantially over the years but the quality remains excellent.

ONLY shoes I wear due to arthritis
I love my Birkenstock clogs. I have arthritis in my left foot, so my podiatrist suggested wearing any style Birkenstocks all the time, even at home. He explained that most shoes are flexible and the bones in my foot will just flex with it causing them to grind against each other. Going barefoot does the same thing. Birks give me great support and I rarely feel any pain. I no longer use a cane or hobble along, slowing down my family and friends.I usually have to buy a wide shoe, but the Birkenstock medium fits just right. My only problem with them is that I need to get a new pair every year. The cork sole wears down in the back. Of course, since it's literally the only shoe I wear all year, I can't really complain!

Dress up or dress down, either way super cute!
These are super comfortable. I was a little worried how I would wear these but they are cute with just about anything. I can wear them with my scrubs or dress them up for the office. I usually wear a size 7.5 so I went with the size 38.

The Best for plantar fasciitis
I am a chef in NYC, very fast pace 3 star restaurant and I ended up catching one of the worst things a chef can catch, which is plantar fasciitis, anyone who has had this knows that it is painful, for me I had/have it on both feet. I went to therapy, I received shots and was told to stay off my feet for months. Well telling a chef to stay off his feet is like telling a cop he can't have his badge or gun... when having plantar fasciitis you have to change a lot, one is the shoes you wear, for me I couldn't wear dress shoes or boots, I changed my chef shoes and sneakers, after so much research I tried these and they were the best fit for me, now, I am not sure if anyone else can wear these or would be allowed to wear these if they are prepers or line cooks but since I'm the head chef they don't bother me, but because these don't have a back they may be an issue for management. However, these are a god sent as they help me so much, I also changed to Nike Air as I read that also helps with plantar fasciitis. These were the best shoes I've ever used.Again, before buying these to use make sure you let the chef know or management know if you can first, if they don't care, go for it, you will not regret it....Also, they are slip resistant but not as good as a really good chef shoe, but they are good enough for a fast pace restaurant

These are perfect
While I have had the blue footbed for several years, these are my first actual Birkenstock shoes. Now I know why people who own them swear by them and I wish that I hadn't held out for so long. These are my favorite shoes now and what I wear most days (when I'm not in dress shoes). I have a somewhat wider foot than many and find that these fit great. I'm looking forward to acquiring a closet full of different models over the years. I should add that I have had serious foot problems in the past and have generally required a custom made orthotic device to be placed in all of my footwear. The fit of these shoes is so perfect and supportive that I don't miss my orthotics when I am wearing them. Very satisfied.

Modello troppo largo per me
Servizio Amazon impeccabile
