Is it stainless steel under the colored grip?Is the entire sleeve going to the tip SS with a grip overlay? Plastic screwed into steel?

Hi Shinto, thanks for your question. The grip is plastic and has no steel underneath so, yes, it's plastic screwed into steel. However, our product development and testing team kept that in mind and sourced plastic to withstand everyday wear and tear. You might also want to consider our F-402 or F-701 retractable ballpoint pens.

Are the pens individually wrapped inside the box?

They are not individually wrapped. This is a cheap way of buying several of what I consider the best economic pen on the market and to make it cheap they save on packaging. Highly recommend but not individually wrapped.

Does anyone know if these have the new garbage cartridges? Or the metal ones? The old quality is a million times better.

Overall quality of these are “fair”. Worth paying a little extra for the F-401’s. Better and heavier feel with the metal shell, cartridges are also better. You won’t be disappointed. Have used F-401 for 10+ years.
