## Description

The pathogenic bacteria Escherichia coli 0154:H7 is typically incapable of fermenting sorbitol. This is used as a screen since 93% of the benign strains of E. coli are capable of doing so. Our Sorbitol is white and granular and meets the following specifications: Reducing Sugars: ≤0.05%; Melting Point: 97 - 101; Loss on Drying: ≤1.0%; Ash: ≤ 0.1%; Sulphate: ≤ 7 ppm; Chloride: ≤ 5 ppm; Lead: ≤ 0.5 ppm; Heavy Metals: ≤ 0.5 ppm; Arsenic: ≤ 3 ppm; Nickel: ≤ 1 ppm; Conductivity: ≤ 10; Total Aerobic Count: ≤ 100 CFU/g; Yeast & Mold: ≤ 50 CFU/g; Coliform Testing: negative ; Salmonella: negative.
