This is a "must purchase" for gamers and people who work from home
Buyer beware - you need HDMI or VGA. If you have a DVI connector on your PC video card, get the AmazonBasics HDMI to DVI Adapter Cable. I bought that and it works perfectly. Oh, REMEMEBER to install your video drivers (it is on the Samsung disc they include) before you try to connect the monitor straight to your PC. I skipped that step and my video card would not detect my monitor (it kept alternating from analog to HDMI). Very important step - I was about to return these.I played GTA V on this last night. Spectacular picture. You will NOT be unhappy with this purchase. My previous monitor was a 24" Dell from 7 years ago. Believe it or not that Dell was top of the line 7 years ago, and I bought two Asus monitors about two years ago to replace that one screen, and found they had an inferior picture quality to it. So, I was wary when buying these Samsungs. I figured the price was too good to be true. The *only* knock I will give on these is the stand is a bit wobbly. This isn't a big deal.I bought two of these, so I could also use them to work from home with dual monitors. It gives me enough room to run multiple applications and not run out of space.

Dynamic Picture Quality at a Very Respectable Price
First the negative:1. The stand is wobbly, as others have noted. It is not a problem on my stable desk.2. While it works with Windows 10, it is not automatically recognized by the O/S. It needs a driver and the one included on the disc works fine in Win10. It will work without the driver with the generic driver already in Win10, but is more easily configured with the included driver.Otherwise, this is an outstanding monitor. The clarity/sharpness is impressive, as is the brightness. Contrast ratio is excellent. The whites are pure white and the blacks are jet black. Price performance ratio is very good, as $219 for a monitor this good looking and this size is much better than expected.Should I need to replace a monitor, this one would be high on my list for its clarity, brightness and contrast ratio. I can live with the bogus base.

I did my best to read as much as I could about buying ...
This monitor is incredible, I did my best to read as much as I could about buying the best possible device as far as popping colors.I really wanted a monitor that I could use for watching movies in high definition, and for reading pdf style books and working on power point presentations. Turning on the "game mode" feature gives amazing popping colors that make watching movies a real delight. When the game mode is turned off, text appears very sharp and clear.I never write reviews, but I just had to for this monitor.Only Issue that I have experienced is that if your using a table that is not really sturdy, then the monitor shakes a little bit due to the design of that monitor stand.

Samsung No More
While the product itself is of somewhat good quality, the real negative review is that of Samsung and their severe lack of quality customer service.I've been an avid Samsung fan ever since I got my first monitor ten years ago. Since then, I have bought several other monitors and TVs through Samsung and never had any problems until this monitor.I purchased two of these monitors, one a week after the other. Upon setting up my first monitor I noticed it had 2 dead pixels. After buying the second monitor, I also noticed that the first monitor's color (Under the exact settings) was a lot more dull looking than the other.Just to ensure I could duplicate the problem, I ran all the recommended tests from Samsung, used different cables, and even plugged the monitor into different computers. I still had the same dead pixels. I then sent the monitor in to get it serviced. During this time I noticed 1 dead pixel and a couple blemished spots on my second monitor. Days later I received a call saying the servicemen can't find any problems with the monitor so they sent it back. Now I'm stuck with two monitors that have defects, and Samsung absolutely refuses to exchange my monitor for another, or issue a refund. The only thing they will offer me is to let me send in my monitor for more servicing, which clearly does a lot of good. Thanks Samsung for showing me how important customers are to you and how, despite my years of loyalty, you feel I'm not important enough to retain as a customer. You did a great job at ensuring no more future business with me. Bravo.
