Over the past three years, I have slowly moved away from using tongs on the grill in favor of these pig tail flippers. These things are simple! Turn clock-wise to hook the meat, turn counter clock-wise to remove the hook.The durability is amazing, and I often will throw my meal onto the grill and leave the tip of the pig tail over the flame to help disinfect the tool. This way you don't have to take it in and wash it through the cooking process.This is amazing for cooking chicken breasts, legs and thighs. Same goes for steak, pork loins and anything that holds together well enough to be held up by a single pressure point. Of course, this will not work well for flipping hamburgers and hotdog / sausage casings will be punctured.... but I have used this for brats before!Popularity with this design has even caught the eye of Weber, who has mimicked this tool. Instead of the curly (pig) tail, they use right angles to make the loop. I find the Weber design to be more clunky and a cheap knock-off.If you love to grill and want impress your friends with a gift / tool they don't have, this is what you need!
