Does the job!
For the price, it did it’s job. Purchased it to place in our baby chick brooder box and as the chicks got busier, they mucked up the paper that thermometer is attached to. I wish the paper was either more waxed or even a clear plastic so it could be wiped down without inspiring the printed numbers. Temperature seemed to be accurate, and again, it did its job!

Broke easily
The incubator I bought recommended this thermometer for inside the incubator with the eggs. However, it needs to be in an upright position to work properly and they're recommending in the incubator to put it on its side. These thermometers don't work accurately or especially not as accurately as you would need for an incubator if they're on their side. The instructions for this thermometer said to put the thermometer in the incubator with the eggs and didn't specify up or down, but by googling these type of thermometers only work in the upright position. So I put it inside the incubator in the upright position and it can't sit in there upright because of the size and then the turners turn gently and must have broken the thermometer just in turning the eggs from side to side. I do not see how you could use this thermometer upright in the automatic incubators that do the turning and incubating and humidity for you. I could see it working just fine in a styrofoam incubator where you're turning the eggs yourself and you can mount it to the wall of the styrofoam. It just seemed very flimsy broke easily and I didn't understand how you could put it upright in an incubator un less. The incubator has a very tall domed pop which would put the heat source further away that has more to do with the incubator than with a thermometer itself.
