Good Word Guide: The fast way to correct English - spelling, punctuation, grammar and usage

This book is really a good english usage book. It explains the correct usage of wordsin alphabetical order. The book is brand new and made of good quality paper. It is as good as the title.

I have forgotten so many of these words and their proper use and meaning. Every writer should have this book in their library. Grammar checks and spell checks will not "all ways" correct a mistake.

I'm in China. I ordered the book and was given an expected delivery time of one month. It arrived within 2 weeks :-)Definitely a handy book to have around when teaching ESL especially for IELTS, ESOL and advanced learnered of English.A great guide with all of those common errors and great reference guide. 1988年発行の初版（270ページ）から増補を重ねて2011年の7版（460ページ）に至っている。見出し語は増えたが、著者の分割語法に対する態度は初版以来、概ね記述主義的である。たとえば、anybody, anyone では「両者は単数扱いされるが、時に複数人称代名詞あるいは複数所有形容詞を伴う：Has anybody/anyone finished their work? 」と述べ、いわゆる「単数の」they を認めている。また。none ではNone of my friends has/have seen the film.の例を挙げ、フォーマルな文脈では、hasが、インフォーマルな文脈ではhave が好まれると述べ、単複の両用を認めている。 本書はネイティブスピーカーを対象に書かれたものであるが、我々日本人が読んでも益することの多い英語語法辞典である。
