Good Quality - Looks Good - Works Great!
This review is for the Delta Faucet RP1001 Soap/Lotion Dispenser, Chrome. At first I was disappointed when I saw that this dispenser was smaller than the original kitchen sink soap dispenser that I was replacing. The soap reservoir bottle seemed small too, only holding about 13 ounces of soap. However, I decided to install it anyway thinking I would replace it later.Well the first thing I like about the Delta dispenser was the ridged plastic nut that secured the dispenser to the sink. The old dispenser had a brass nut that had developed corrosion and was a bear to get off even with a large set of pliers. The plastic or nylon securing nut that came with the Delta dispenser could be installed and tightened by hand. After installation I simply poured dish soap into the soap reservoir through the top of the dispenser. A funnel was included with the kit but I did not need it. I then plopped the dispenser pump onto the top of the soap bottle and gave it 2 pumps and soap started coming out.Since then it has worked perfectly. It takes just a light press on the pump and soap comes out. Also it does not weep soap like the past dispenser did. And, when I need to replenish the soap I simply have to pull the pump head straight out of the top of the dispenser and add soap. (No unscrewing, no crawling underneath the sink to remove a reservoir bottle.)So overall I am extremely pleased with this dispenser. (The smaller size has not been an issue at all.)Note: I had originally ordered and installed a cheaper no-brand soap dispenser to replace a Moen dispenser that had finally stopped working. I chose the cheap dispenser for the price and the fact that it had a long hose that you could place into a large bottle of dish detergent under the sink.Unfortunately the chrome on the dispenser was low quality so it had a more of a nickel look, and the long hose proved to be a nuisance as it took many pumps to get any soap to start flowing and the stiff plastic hose kept curling up and frequently came out of the soap bottle. Dish soap also dripped from the pump spout into the sink. And finally, after a few months of light use the pump developed a crack and stopped working all together.Bottom line, going cheap is tempting but not worth it in the long run.4/12/2017 Update: Still working and looking great with no issues.

Easy to Install, Works Great
I bought this to replace the old soap dispenser on our kitchen sink, which had worn out and for which I couldn't find a replacement pump mechanism that fit. Very easy to install. I just twisted the old one with a pair of ChannelLock pliers, which loosened the nut under the sink enough to remove it. After cleaning the built-up gunk from around the hole with a putty knife, I popped in the new soap dispenser, crawled under the sink and attached the large plastic wing nut that holds it in place, screwed on the plastic bottle, filled it with a soap solution (I use about 1 part liquid detergent to 2 parts water), dropped the pump into the hole, and voila! Each push squirts out about a teaspoon of soap solution, and unlike the old one, it doesn't lose its prime between uses.True, the part that goes through the sink and the nut that holds the unit in place are plastic, or perhaps nylon of some sort, but it seems quite strong and durable. The exposed part is apparently enamel- or plastic-coated brass -- heavy and obviously strong -- and it looks great, with clean lines and not obtrusive. I expect it to last for years -- and if not, what the heck, it was only $35 from Amazon.BTW, don't be concerned about the term "for Thick Tile" in the name of this product. Apparently that means the part that goes through the hole is longer than normal (it's about 3 inches long, whereas the same part on my old unit was only about 1 inch long), which allows it to be used with holes cut through granite or other thick counter tops. However, it works equally well with a normal sink -- you just have to tighten the nut a few more turns.

Great way to use dish soap for those who don’t like clutter
I had the ugly bottled of dish soap so these are a must for anyone who doesn’t want to have an eyesore on their counter top.Had this set installed in another house and I loved it so much I bought it again.Easy to refil from the top with the funnel that’s provided. Soap lasts me about a month for each refill.Stays looking clean and functional. Paired it with a matching delta faucet

Nice dispenser but nothing special
Works as expected. I like the idea of filling from the top, which is very easy and even comes with a small funnel, instead the type that have hoses underneath that will probably make a mess at some point. It would be a better design if the top screwed in instead of just dropping in to reduce wobble when pumping. But not a biggie. I don't think it's twice as good as others that cost half as much, but it works

Wonderful and matches the venetian bronze finish on the faucet
We installed two of these dispensers, one for soap and one for lotion. They work perfectly, and needed priming only when they were first filled. The finish on them also perfectly matches the Delta 9178-RB-DST Leland Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet, Venetian Bronze that we installed just before installing these. I almost bought the Delta RP50813RB Soap/Lotion Dispenser, Venetian Bronze , with its more rounded profile, but decided that multiple good reviews outweighed the possibility of a better profile match and a slightly lower cost. As it turns out, these go with the Leland design just fine anyway, and they really do perform wonderfully.A note about really thick hand lotion (Vaseline Intensive Care, to be specific): it's impossible to actually pour this stuff, which is not the fault of the dispenser. I ended up splooching (there simply is no word that adequately describes this process) lotion (which is very nearly a cream) into the funnel, then using a knitting needle (a skewer would have worked, too, but I knew where my long knitting needles were) to poke and swirl it into a whirlpool to force it down into the bottle. This method works (eventually), and to its credit, the dispenser dispenses it perfectly. However, by the end of the process, I had the softest hands on this side of the Mississippi. If anyone knows of a better method, I'd LOVE to hear it, lol!Meanwhile, my heartfelt thanks to the other reviewers for recommending this dispenser so highly!
