Top Quality, solid construction. Highly recommended!
Top Quality, solid construction. No movement, no rattles, just smooth performance. The blades lock solidly in place and the handle is very comfortable. Light weight and compact yet as strong as a fixed blade. Much better than the SOG Revolver, maybe 3x the price but 10x the quality and dexterity. The green is a beautiful forest color that could easily get camouflaged and lost if dropped in the woods, so some may want to opt for the orange handle, but I like the forest green. Comes with a durable sheath as well as a very strong pocket clip that will definitely stay attached. Highly recommended!

I love this knife
The knife feels really solid when locked in the open position. It has a great grippy surface that keeps it snug in my hand. The blade is super strong and razor sharp. The saw makes very short work of cutting wood and the hook is a great added feature. Very sharp and very useful. The knife looks and feels like it was made for my big hands. It's light and sturdy. Very well constructed. No negatives to speak of. It seems to me that a lot of thought was put into designing this knife.

The handle is nice and your hand won't slip when getting wet
The handle is nice and your hand won't slip when getting wet. Wondered before hand but works well when butchering wild game and cutting meat. I love the saw and won't buy a hunting knife again without that feature.

BUCK 183 Alpha Crosslock Review
Aside from a few things noting about this updated Alpha Crosslock there are only a few things that kept me from giving it 5-stars...*The stock photo shows a rich leaf like green as the handle isn't in this color. The color is more like an ivy or hemlock color consisting of more of a 'so dark it's almost black' kind of green. Not ugly just wasn't what was pictured.*Edge Quality:What do we usually know Buck Knives for these days...anyone? if you guessed their knives being exceptionally sharp you guessed right. In the year 2000 Buck developed their Edge 2X Technology for a narrower and better cutting edge. This is also important because alloyed steels like a stainless need the edge geometry to bring back a good edge and showcase the cutting performance and edge life of the stainless steel this geometry is on.Well over the past few years I've received Buck knives that have the angle but possess a thinner edge grind and others have been great as expected.I've grown tired of sending these thinner edge ground knives back to Buck for it to be re-ground properly and I received this lackluster result on this Crosslock. You can sharpen this thinner grind but it doesn't show how of a cutter Buck Knives can really be,Buck does an excellent job on their 420HC stainless and I've considered their Edge 2X to be the icing on the cake...I feel like something put me on a diet.Beyond these observations I liked this Crooslock. The handles have some nice cross section texturing and the diagonal slotting looks good. The update of adding a pocket clip means you don't have to sheath this on your belt and can double as a utility knife. The jimped liner locks are milled at the bottom like a framelock so the lock-up is actually rigid yet easy to unlock. In the saw/guthook dept. the edges were very well machined and very sharp. In my opinion the Alpha Crosslock is an excellent knife for the farmer as well as a small game hunter.Or even for that individual who uses their everyday knife to clean small game and would appreciate those tools in time of need.It does come with a well constructed nylon sheath with vertical and horizontal carry option but I no longer need it with the pocket clip present. That clip is switchable between left and right hand.Determining the handing would be the knife blade side of this tool touching your hip as it's tip-down carry.I still recommend the Buck 183 Alpha Crosslock altogether as it was nicely made with a few things to be aware of.4-stars!

I like to give Buck knives as gifts. They always perform as expected and more. The life time guarantee is a deal maker for me.Won't know how this knife performs until my son-in-law dresses my buck next fall.

Buck knife
I have the old knife like this and use it all the time to field dress deer. The saw teeth on this new model are much better. Good knife.
