Better than crimping.
I bought these because I have been wanting to try them, and I was installing a new stereo in my truck. I really liked these wire connectors, they are soldered, and waterproofed. I used a new heat gun I purchased at the same time. The connections feel more secure than crimping, they don’t pull out or fall out or cut the wire if you crimp to hard. In the picture, the top bundle is the last person that installed a stereo in this truck. The bottom bundle is the one that I did with these wire connectors and the heat gun. A much cleaner bundle, easier to control when you are sticking it back in the dash.

These should be in everyone's tool kit
250PCS Solder Seal Wire Connectors - Sopoby Heat Shrink Solder Butt Connectors - Solder Connector Kit - Automotive Marine Insulated Waterproof Electrical Wire TerminalsI bought this for a project about five months ago and finally got around to using it. I’ve worked in the micro-electronics industry for decades and have never been happy with crimp connectors but digging out the soldering iron is a pain for just a couple connections. I saw these advertised on Facebook So of course I went to Amazon to see what they had to offer. After looking things over I chose to give these a try. I was not disappointed. My project was a small trailer that needed new lights and to be rewired. Honestly an easy job. Crimp connectors aren’t water tight and though I live in a desert, it does rain and when it does it floods. For a job like this I would use shrink tubing and solder. With this all I needed was wire cutters, stripers, and a heat gun. I think it took me less time doing this than it would have taken to get my tools together and heat up my iron. Plus no big cleanup when I was done.Using these made the job go faster and easier. I can’t think of any negative. I highly recommend these you don’t need to be a rocket scientist.

Easy connections
Soldering made easier. I have no trouble soldering wires together the old way, but you don't need to with these.I found the easiest method for me was to strip one of the wires on the end and put it into the connector and heat shrink one end to hold it in place. Then put in the other wire and do the same. Lastly, melt the solder and cover with additional heat shrink tubing.Nice item, packaged well, and came real fast. Good!

Does not meet expectations.
These connectors are not worth getting! The heat needed to set the solder melts the shrink tubing. And the solder did not take 50-60% of time. I have used better quality “solder and seal” with no issues. Spend a bit more and buy a trusted brand.

GET THESE
I have seen these used, but have been skeptical of using them myself. I finally broke down and got a set, and will NEVER look back. If you are still cutting, crimping, and hoping it will hold, you are cheating yourself and need to walk away from the old way of getting things done. These wire connectors are much more streamline when applied, meaning no more bulky crimps looking like a freshly fed snake invaded your wiring. No more hoping that the quality of your crimp was sufficient and worrying that it will hold up to long term movement. And no more fumbling around with crimpers and trying to make sure they are lined up well and deep enough for a solid hold. These connectors are transparent, so you can visualize the stripped wiring throughout the process. They require a mild amount of heat for the solder to expand sufficiently over the stripped ends and the heat wrap holds it all in place more than sufficiently and protects the entire connection from the weather and elements.I will personally never look back. I could happily and confidently throw away all of the old crimping stuff, and never lose a second of sleep over it.

Pretty finicky
So good packaging, kits nice, good assortment. Problem is, plastic shrink tube catches fire before solder melts to wires...I do plumbing band electrical so I'm pretty educated on using torches. I've got a smaller torch, which is just a little bit bigger than a cigarette litter, but that just melted everything before solder liquefied...

Where have these been all my life???
A buddy asked for my help with repairing 36 strands of sprinkler irrigation leads that he had accidentally cut through. When I showed up, he had this box waiting. I was not optimistic about the connectors but have them a shot. Where have these been my whole life??? They are soooo easy to use and make a truly consistent connections. Since then I have purchased by own box and used them on several occasions. Be sure to pick up a nice heat gun! I will always have a box of these around!

Much better solution than normal butt connectors.
I have done car audio for years and had never tried any type of solder seal connectors as I had never seen them in this area. After getting a handful of different brands I found the products from Sopoby to be the best made products especially for the price. They work great every time, the only part I had trouble getting down was overheating them to melt the solder and not completely melting the outside heat shrink in the process. It takes some practice for sure if you are not used to working with this type of connector.
