Best of Lego's newest mini-series of Star Wars sets
Lego debuted the "Microfighters" line in January 2014. Each set has about 100 pieces including 1 minifigure, and costs $9.99 (Lego MSRP). Most of the third party sellers here are inflating Lego's price by 50-100%. Instead, buy directly from Amazon when available ("sold by Amazon"), or pick these micro fighters up in Target or Toys R US. I presume the "unhelpful" votes for this review are third party sellers unhappy that their absurd prices are being exposed =). The sets are meant to look cartoonish, with a vehicle that is disproportionately small to the mini figure. The X Wing captures a lot of detail in quite a small model. The printing on the pilot's body, face, and helmet is *very* detailed and impressive. Note that the mini figure in this set is new and this pattern was not previously available. The R2 unit looks great as well - but note that just the top dome is included (there is no way a full R2 figure would fit into this set). No stickers, but there are also no printed pieces other than the mini figure and R2 dome. The 4 wing tips have flick-fire missiles. Wings fold flat and out into X formation. That is the extent of the "action" features of this set but because of it's small size, great looks, and good build quality it is very playable.

Excellent Stubby X-Wing
You really can't go wrong with the Microfighters series. This one I got after the 3rd series whas been out for some time, but it stands up to the more recent releases in build design, quality and value. The Droid unit is just the top dome, but that's OK, you couldn't fit two whole figures in this fighter. The front halves of the missiles(?) on the corners of the wings tend to get knocked off, a design flaw that is probably unavoidable given the pieces available and the model's requirements. Might be worth hot-gluing in or removing altogether to prevent them getting lost.

Grandson is pleased!
There are so many different ones of these Lego projects! I give them 5 stars if our grandson can look at the instructions and put them together with no problems. I count off the rating if he has problems getting pieces to fit together or the instructions are not clear, etc. As I cant actually GRADE these, because I dont know which ones are the best or not . . . hahaha so when he is pleased... i am pleased!!! hahaha (he is 8, if that helps)

Great set for my 6yo!
Bought this set for my 6yo son. It was the perfect level of difficulty for him - challenging, but doable. He loved putting this together. Bought a few different sets. I wanted to get him something Star Wars themed (he's obsessed) w/o spending a lot of $. These little sets are perfect.

Mini X-Wing!
I got the mini Millenium Falcon, which is awesome, and picked this one up because my 3 year old loves the Falcon one so much. The pieces sticking out of the front of the wings don't stay on very well when he plays with it, but overall it was fun to put together. The downer is, it's not Luke! It could "BE" Luke in play, but even the R2 unit in the back is more R4 since it's green. I was kind of bummed about that.

Way over priced!!
Terribly OVERPRICED!!!!!!!! I learned a lesson when I bought this. ALWAYS read the dimensions of the products before purchasing. Grandson was excited to get it but this grandma just about had a heart attack when I saw the size of the box!!! Like I said.....lesson learned.

For the price I paid, I had expected a larger version, not the smaller one of 97 pieces. I paid approximately $51. or $52. Definitely not what I had expected. I purchased a similar Lego Star Wars, 64 pieces, and paid $12.98.
