I've been using this boost powder for a few weeks now, and it's been a game-changer for my fine hair. Just a small amount at the roots gives me noticeable lift and volume without any greasy residue. This men's product is one-of-a-kind because it texturizes and adds volume to the hair without any oils or a greasy feel. For somebody like me who has wavy and oily hair, it is the PERFECT product to use to take control of your style for an all-day and all-night hold that even holds up into the next morning when you wake up! To give you an idea of how it works—the product is a very fine powder that you sprinkle in your hair and work around to your liking. Start with just a little since it does go a long way. One container lasts me several months. I have never been able to find this product in any salon or store since it probably isn't very popular (which still surprises me). I consider this my secret styling product that has been my number-one go-to for years now. This product may not be for everyone, especially if you like running your fingers through your hair, or having a special someone do that ;) but if you're looking for something that will keep your style in place or add a boost to otherwise flat hair, this is it! Pack one of these in your gear bag in case you need a lift from "hat hair" or after a post-workout session and you'll be good for the whole day.

I have very thin hair, and I found that pomades and creams, even those advertised as "matte" finish, wouldn't hold up for an entire day. Oftentimes my hair would start to look greasy by the afternoon/evening, resulting in a complete wash and reapplication for a night out, for instance. This powder alternative is a bit of an over-correction for my hangup with various pomades. It's definitely dry. Some might say it's too dry, depending on their preference. For me, it's what I needed. My hair looks and feels dry all day long with this product, and it keeps it all under control. Experimenting with applying this powder with completely dry hair, slightly/towel dry hair, or even running wet hands through your hair after applying it, is recommended as you search for your desired look. If I were to nitpick, I'd mention two things: 1) Your hair may feel somewhat brittle after applying this powder. A necessary evil, in my opinion. I need my hair dry, and I expect some fallout as a result. Your hair will lose some of the brittle effect as the day goes on. 2) "Sprinkling" this powder onto your head is difficult if you're looking for consistent results. There were times where clumps just poured onto my scalp that I'd have to distribute afterwards. There were other times where the openings in the top became clogged and not enough came out. There's some trial and error as a result, but I found that placing a finger or thumb over roughly half of the openings helped me control how much came out in the end. Aside from these minor gripes, I'm happy with this product. I'll continue my search for the perfect styling product for my needs, but this one is the contending champ for the time being...

My husband orders this over and over again. It gives instant easy lift and volume. Easily blends in to hair without clumping and seeing powder. Comes out fast so gently shake into hair.

I'm always trying out different hair products to see what works and doesn't work for me. Here's instructions on how to use it: 1. Make sure your hair is completely dry. 2. Start by slightly shaking the unopened can a few times. 3. Open the can and put it over the areas you want to apply. 4. Begin to tap the side of the can. The powder should lightly land on top of your hair. 5. Use a brush with your other hand to help the powder to land where you want it to. 6. Use your hands to style or use another product for better results. PROS - I normally use this with the American Crew Fiber to get a great low-shine, bed-head look. It works very well. - This powder could be very helpful for those with thin hair. I would recommend using with the American Crew Boost Cream. CONS - The description says, "Retains natural moisture and softens hair." In my experience, this is false. Using the powder alone, it actually dries out my hair almost like bristles on a broom stick (exaggerating). It makes it tough to put my fingers through my hair. Just a little false advertising, but nothing to really complain about. Overall, I'd recommend this product to whoever needs an extremely matte way to thicken your hair.

It works great as far as styling your hair and holding it well. However, it doesn't have any fragrance. I'm a little suspicious that this may be some fake product. If you like this product and prefer no fragrance then maybe this is right for you. I'll continue to use it but just realize if you order it it's not the same as the genuine product.

Llevo varios años usando los polvos porque a diferencia de las cremas o ceras, es de los pocos productos que con muy poca cantidad deja el peinado totalmente fijado sin sensación de apelmazamiento durante todo el día, teniendo la seguridad que una vez sales de casa ya no tienes que preocuparte por tu peinado. En concreto estos de American Crew son sin duda son los mejores del mercado, . Los he comparado con los de otras marcas continuamente y como estos ninguno, además siempre suelen estar al mejor precio en Amazon. Están especialmente indicados para cabellos normales o finos, ya que aportan volumen y fijación con un acabado muy natural y mate (sin brillos) y se pueden combinar con otros productos como ceras o lacas para dar un acabado final más brillante, con la ventaja de no tener exceso de grasa o sensación de pelo sucio. Recomendaciones de uso: *Con el pelo limpio primero dar forma al corte o peinado con secador y una vez conseguido la forma que queremos tener, aplicar el producto por todo cabello (cuando el bote esta lleno aconsejo tapar todos los boquetes menos uno ya que sale muchísima cantidad, conforme se va gastando el producto se puede ir dejando mas boquetes libres para regular mejor). Posteriormente dar un suave masaje con 3 dedos por toda la zona para que el producto se expanda y penetre. * El efecto que quedara es de pelo fijado mate pero sin apelmazar * Si se quiere un acabado con un poco de brillo, después de aplicarlo se puede usar alguna laca o cera con brillo en la parte mas superficial del pelo. Ventajas: * A diferencia de las ceras y cremas, no deja ningún tipo de grasa y el peinado se mantiene realmente fijado hasta el final del día. Especialmente en verano que con el sudor y el calor solemos acabar con las ceras en la frente y el corte destrozado. * No tiene efecto apelmazante, con sensación de tener el pelo suelto y con la seguridad de no despeinarse * Puede combinarse con otros productos para conseguir un efecto mas brillante * Realmente fácil de usar y aplicar, se tarda muy poco en peinarse Desventajas * La única pega que le encuentro, como comenté anteriormente es la dosificación. Cuando el producto esta nuevo sale demasiada cantidad pudiendo chafarnos el peinado, se soluciona fácilmente tapando todos los boquetes menos uno o dos y conforme se va gastando ir liberando mas boquetes para que salga mas cantidad, con poner el dedo encima es suficiente para taparlos (en una de las fotos se puede ver bien). Deberían de mejorar este detalle, pero para nada estropea la experiencia del producto que es de 10.

No me fijé que era polvo, sin embargo da buen volumen, aunque yo no lo uso solo, primero uso la cera para moldear y defino con el polvo.
