I think it would work, but...
Bought this to possibly hang an old. historic plate. It looks sturdy enough, but had two issues with it, so I went in another direction. First, this requires a couple of fairly big screws to fasten to the wall, which wouldn't be a problem is the screws were provided. But....no screws. Second, I was somewhat concerned about the angle the plate would be sitting at. This holder is fairly wide, so the plate would really have been leaning, and that made me uncomfortable with it. It might work for other, larger items, but I didn't use it for the plate in question. May find other uses for it.

Sturdy and easy to install.
I bought this quite a while ago but finally installed it this weekend. I was trying to find something to put over my kitchen doorway and I found a very cute platter on Amazon and I am using this to display it. Very easy to install and it feels very sturdy. It fit a fairly large platter without any problems at all.

Plate racks
Very nice plate racks. You can hang your favorite plates on the wall or sit them on a table with these iron plate racks. Very nice indeed.

Does the job, BUT
It is a cute design and has no difficulty for doing what I bought it for-holding cutting boards. HOWEVER. I was a bit disappointed in the manufacturing. The panel that holds the screws is crooked inside the oval. That means that either the item will be crooked, or the design of the holder will look crooked. I installed both brackets with a level, so it should be perfectly level. I'm also a bit disappointed that it didn't come with hardware. I know it was written in the description, but it doesn't make sense to me why it wouldn't be included. Most people who but this will be using this on the wall.
