Though I found them to be of little help in keeping fluid from evaporating any longer than before installing them. They also seemed to shrink/warp due to contact with the lighter fluid. After same results with three gaskets in two lighters using two different brands of fluid I just bought a Thunderbird butane insert replacement and couldn't be happier. **Q: How long will the fuel last using this ?** A: This depends greatly on how much you use your lighter. Standby time I get about 2 weeks. With use I get a solid 6 days. **Q: How long these gaskets last? Should I buy extras?** A: Depends on how rough you are with changing flint and adding fluid. I have a bunch of zippos and they all have the gasket and I have no issues with any of them, even the two that I use daily. Extra's won't ever hurt to have on hand, just in case.
