Relax and Be Aware: Mindfulness Meditations for Clarity, Confidence, and Wisdom

Best Tejaniya book for experienced meditators. Counter Depression and Anxiety.
The experienced meditator should begin Tejaniya enquiry with this book. Those who call this book "simple" do not know what they have read. McGill's editing and rendition is precise and brilliant, as he is among the Tejaniya teachers. Continuous meditation is a different kind of practice altogether, and the differences from other vipassanas are carefully emphasized and explained. Turning the rupa-nama paradigm on its head is an entirely different thing that I have seen discussed nowhere else.Tejaniya developed his version of vipassana from his own experiences with chronic depression. He found vipassana as he received it too energy draining, so he adjusted in the only way available to him. I used his book to anchor my recovery from years of Major Depression and Anxiety, during which I lost control of my attention faculty, and I only recently recovered that. After reading the first half of this book I began practice and immediately experienced results. That was yesterday. I have not gone to teachers in many years, so if you are on your own like me, try this."When Awareness", another Tejaniya book, is edited by French (another Tejaniya teacher) and covers much the same material, but more informally. "Relax and Be" reads like a sharp edged sculpted sutta, if you are already familiar with what you are examining... Your mind. The other Tejaniya books are good, but not so organized for instructional purposes. More of a question and answer approach.

Clear, practical, inspiring.
This is the clearest and most cohesive presentation of Sayadaw U Tejaniya’s teachings that I have found. It explains his teachings on right effort, right view, wisdom, wholesome qualities, and unwholesome qualities with great clarity and in ways that can be used in formal meditation practice as well as in bringing mindfulness into daily life. This book has enriched and deepened my practice on and off the cushion. I give it my highest possible recommendation!

Best meditation book
This technique of meditation--maintaining awareness throughout the day, in your daily life--is life changing. It is a practice that everyone can do, no matter the circumstances of your life. This book offers the most clear, direct guide to this practice. A main focus is "awareness of awareness," and Sayadaw Tejaniya explains how to understand and practice in simple language. Highly recommended.

A Good Place to Start with Sayadaw U. Tejaniya
I have been meditating for a number of years in the vipassana tradition. My recent introduction to Sayadaw U. Tejaniya has a added a significant dimension to my practice. This book is a solid introduction to Sayadaw's approach to "daily life mindfulness." I also like the daily meditations that are part of this book. There are 31. My intention is to do one each day and then repeat.

practical and concise
I have read Tenjaneya's book When Awareness Becomes Natural four times. It is probably the most helpful book I have read (and I have read many) on becoming liberated. I wanted to read more books by Tenjaneya and someone suggested Relax and be Aware. This book is concise, direct and and practical. It's a wonderful reminder for me everyday on how to approach life without stress, anxiety, frustration and other negative emotions. This book set me on the path to freedom from suffering. Though, for me, I think it's going to be a long path!

Okay but Basic
I was excited that a Buddhist was writing about awareness all day, in each moment, but found this ultimately to be rudimentary or for beginners, as most books coming out in Buddhism are.

Simple, straightforward instructions and meditations
I love this book, I’ve read it multiple times. The teacher’s style is simple, right to the point, and extremely wise and insightful. The book is composed of an introduction and 30 daily reflections. I love reading the reflections right before meditating. I 100% recommend this book.

Outstanding Practical Wisdom - Potentially Life-changing
I must have forty plus mindfulness/meditation/Buddhism books on my Kindle but this may be the first time I felt I just had to write a review. This book is an amazing, practical guide as to how to realise the benefits of awareness in daily life. There are instructions as to the best way to use the book, baring in mind a key phrase or piece of each daily lesson as you go through the day. The advice and guidance is a wonderful complement to a formal daily meditation practice (e.g sitting meditation.) The editorial reviews by some of my favourite meditation teachers were of the opinion this is a fine book and I agree with Alexis Santos that it is potentially life-changing!
