5.11 Tactical Men's Water-Resistant Field Ops Watch, Polyurethane Wrist Band, Style 59245

I just got it in the mail and i was presently surprised. I looks sharp, button easy to push, compass is a great addition. A little difficult to see the time but the backlight is awesome! As far as the ballistic calc, itll take some time but do take the time to figure it out. Im going shooting tomorrow so we will see how well it work! I would deff buy another one if i needed.

I bought this watch as a gift for my husband who is a fireman in AZ. Prior to buying a watch, I researched several different makes and models. I settled on this one after reading reviews. The conditions where we live are harsh and the watch gets a lot of abuse. It holds up like a champion and is a really great choice for those who work in protective service. It also has a lot of fun options that really come in handy in the field. He gets a lot of compliments on the watch and always thanks me for it.Update May 2013: The watch failed. Condensation was collecting as if there was a leak in the watch however the face and seal appear to be intact. The watch has never been under water, has never been bashed, banked, exposed to chemicals or mistreated in a way to cause a seal to fail. I called 5.11 tactical customer service who were not polite on the phone. They advised AMAZON IS NOT AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY WILL NOT COVER WATCHES SOLD BY AMAZON "because we don't knwo where they really came from.....". Also, watches that are over 2 years old (ours is 2 years 5 months!!) are no longer covered by warranty. Bottom line- a watch from target that was 1/4 the price has outlasted this watch. What a waste and poor customer service. Maybe these watches used to be made better or we simply got a defective piece. Either way, we are out about $200 and have a junk watch.

I got about 3 years out of this watch before it went tits up. If you buy one, keep it dry. The band broke the first year I had it. It has a claim of being "water resistant." Mine wasn't. It's made in China though, so...

I purchased this watch and initially loved the look, until I realized you have to scroll through the mode functions in order to see the date. So if you are in a hurry, you can’t just look at the face of the watch and see the time and date, which is a deal breaker if you are in any type of law enforcement position. Also, it is not water proof, OR water resistant as it claims. I took a shower with this watch on and it immediately filled with condensation and broke. This watch is just for looks, I don’t recommend it to anyone who is in the military or law enforcement fields.

The product is very good, but I received it with the battery exhausted ... It is a mistake to sell a clock without a battery ... Once in operation, the product is excellent.

I was looking for a somewhat tough, comfortable watch, and made 3 purchases on Amazon. Two different models of Casio G-Shock watches, and this guy here. The Field Ops watch stayed, the G-Shocks didn't.This watch is one of the most comfortable watches I have ever purchased. I had already tried out one of the G-Shock watches, and had been pleased but not impressed with it. Then I put this guy on. Night and Day difference. I didn't even realize how unhappy I had been with the fit of the G-Shock until I had this on my wrist. Cinched down properly, it's neither too tight and cutting in to my skin, nor too loose and moving all over the place. Compared to this, the G-Shock, even with it's little wings on the case, just never seemed to work well.I've received several comments on it's appearance as well. It looks like a quality, stylish piece, which is not something most people usually associate with plastic-cased watches.I have no major comments on the Ballistic Calculator portion of this watch as I haven't had a chance to use it. Once you play through the menu options for the calculator you'll see that the calculator does work as advertised. However, in this day and age of ballistic calculator apps on smartphones, it feels more of a novelty than a serious feature. Kind of like the "walkie-talkie" watches...The menu system itself in navigating the features of the watch itself is, I feel, more complicated than it needs to be. Then again, there is quite of bit of stuff packed in this watch, and you have to keep in mind that this is not one of the newer "smart watches" like Android Wear or Apple Watch. But in this case, a little bit more attention to detail could have gone a long way. For example, the manual shows that the display will, in the dead center in small lettering, indicate which mode you are on when switching between time, stopwatch, etc. But between the size of the lettering, and the horizontal stripe through the center, it is damn near impossible to tell what the small lettering actually says. I've tried in several lighting conditions, and ironically enough it's easiest to read in a dark room at night with the backlight on. Easiest being a relative term. Still kind of hard to see. Not a big deal in itself, but it appears to be a design flaw that may never have been corrected, seeing as how this watch has now been out for a few years.The only other issue is the glass on this watch throws off a very bright, sharp reflection. Not a quality issue, more like a design oversight. For a watch that has been marketed as a "tactical" watch, this seems to be a pretty big drawback. None of the other watches I have are anywhere as severe in terms of how much reflection is seen from the glass.Overall, I'm rather pleased with this watch. The reflection issue matters more to me than the small lettering, but still not enough to negate how comfortable it is.

I went back and forth trying to decide if I really wanted this watch, mainly due to the price, but man am I glad I finally bought it. This thing is awesome! I haven't had the chance to use the ballistics calculator but I really love this watch. I'm in law enforcement and it handles the abuse. The compass is great and unlike most watches that the entire face lights up, this one only the numbers or whatever you have displayed, light up and it's not too bright. Would definitely buy another one and I highly recommend this to anyone looking at it.

I bought this watch 2 years ago and still have it on as I review it! I love this thing. It takes a beating in all weather, mechanical work, or out in the field. It has seen many things and it still hangs on for the ride. The features are great, I have used all but the BDC and I intend to one day when ammo is sold in the stores again, heh! Great watch I highly recommend!
