Rubber Hook Over Feeder - Little Giant - Heavy Duty Mountable Livestock & Pet Feed Bucket (18 Quart) (Item No. DF18HF)

Our 36 year old gelding has lost most of his teeth, so he eats a mush of Senior feed and water. I've tried many types of hanging buckets but the mush gets packed into the narrow bottom of even the largest buckets. The pans that are placed on the floor don't pack the feed down, but Buck is having a hard time reaching down to eat (Hey, he's like a 100-year-old human!).This large, rectangular bucket is more like a mini trough. It gives him lots of room to scoop out his mush and I can place it at chest level, which seems just about right for him.The only challenge is that this is designed for hanging over a woodboard wall, and I have corral panels. I just cut a piece of 1/4" plywood and screwed it under where I hung the feeder to keep it from flipping too far back. This way, the feeder hangs on the corral panel pipe, with the back resting against the plywood wall.BTW, there were complaints about the rubber smell, but I just soaked it with water and mouthwash for about an hour, rinsed well, and sun-dried. Still a little smell, but Buck doesn't seem to mind at all!

This product was perfect for what we needed. Our older horse loses a lot of feed while chewing.This feeder is large enough to catch what she drops so she still gets to eat all of her feed.

They fit over the fence, but had to bungee them through the holes provided support and the holes weren’t riveted and ended up tearing. Advertised as super strong but that just isn’t the case with these.

I have been using the rubber feed buckets for my horses for years. While they can destroy a plastic over-the-fence bucket in about a week, these rubber ones are nearly indestructible. The one I am replacing lasted nearly 5 years and it took the horses that long to get one to tear along the hook. I think they were using it as a soccer ball on a daily basis. These are great!

Large capacity , quick shipping ... My horse does like to chew them up , but that's him .

This product had the strongest chemical smell that did not dissipate at all over time. I left it outdoors for a week. No change. Left in my car for one day, my car smelled like it for over a week. Would not let a living thing eat out of this! Threw it away!
