Cuts 3mm SS mesh...just!
If you are cutting a handful of 3mm stainless steel wires, then it will do the job and you will recover from the severe jolt as it breaks through the wire. It is also very good at getting into spaces where other cutters just wouldn't fit. However, if you want to (as I did) cut 8' x 4' sheets of 3mm stainless steel mesh, then I wouldn't use these. They are too short to provide the leverage required and the severe jolt as it breaks through the wire cannot be good for future wrist use. I am glad I have them but their use will be limited to a minimum. I now have another pair of cutters from Amazon that are cheaper and most importantly cut 3mm stainless steel mesh easily and smoothly without the jolt.

Clean and easy cuts
I mostly do bicycle cable and cable up to 1/8" these cutters do that stuff just great, no frays nice and even. I can see them doing thicker cable up to the rated thickness. They feel well made and after all the times I have used them no dulling has occurred.I think these are a good alternative for people that don't want to spend top dollar on the much more expensive ones especially if not used on an everyday all day basis.Something too note the first pair I received was used and visibly damaged cutter end. It's unclear how that happened but it would not be the first time this has happened with Amazon fulfilled items. I just went through the normal return process and received a brand new pair very quickly without issue.

You don't have to worry about the quality of these snips for a small job.
The company sent me a lemon scented air freshener with the snips, which was nice as I put it in the bottom of our trash receptacle. They also provided several samples of different materials to cut. I used the snips to cut 1/8 inch stainless cable to finish out my custom wire hand rail. They worked well enough on longer pieces. If you try to cut too close to the end of the wire it's a bit of a struggle. I dont think it's the fault of the snips though. The wires will splay and slide between the cutting blades. I think it's a matter of technique.

It does the job but not as well as I expected.

Only good for small cables
I bought these to replace a pair of Muzata cable cutters, which I was using to cut 3/16" steel cable ("rope") for a deck project. These are much more difficult to use, and routinely give a poor, uneven cut. Usually, I have to put all my bodyweight on the handle, and in the end, the cable twists so that there are a few strands that are left uncut. The ends are splayed, making it difficult to slide fittings onto the cable.I suspect if you had smaller gauge wire, this would not be a problem, but since I specifically purchased these because the listing indicates they could cut 3/16" cable, this is a disappointment.I recommend you keep shopping.

Refurbished they are not new
I have not used them yet that is why I gave 3 star's. Soon as I got them out of the package I could see they where refurbished and not new. The spring will barley open the cutters and you can see scratches all over the metal. I guess for price you get what you get.
