Affordable remote control replacement for older Hampton Bay ceiling fans
My father-in-law recently purchased a new home with an older model Hampton Bay ceiling fan in the master bedroom. Unfortunately the previous owners hadn't provided the remote control when the home was sold. Without the remote control, you can't power the fan's motor directly from the wall switch because the contacts of the RF receiver fails to the normally open (NO) position when power is removed. This basically made the fan useless with the exception of the lights. The reason for this is, the RF receivers contacts for the ceiling fan's lights are normally closed (NC) when power is removed. So the lights can be powered directly from the wall switch through the NC lighting contact.Unlike newer models of Hampton Bay fans, which has a replaceable RF receive inside the canopy, the older models have an integral RF receiver built into the fan's motor housing and is inaccessible. To determine if you have one of the older models, check the top section of the fan's motor housing and if you see a small four position dip switch (similar to older garage door openers) then you're in the same boat. See my attached photo to see what to look for. This design prevents the use of the newer style replacement remote controllers because of their separate RF receiver that's installed in the drop canopy which will be upstream from NO fan contacts internal to the motor housing.Without the remote your only practical solution is to replace the entire fan. Sure you can drop the fan, open the housing and jumper around the NO fan motor contact then reinstall the fan but this is a very time consuming job for a seasoned electrician, which I am. However I would certainly not recommend the average home owner try this or to hire a "general handy man" to do it because it could result in a electric shock or fire hazard due to a wiring mistake. And to hire a licensed electrician to do this correctly and safely, you're probably looking at a minimum of 2 hours which will be more than the cost of just buying a new fan. However this Eogifee remote controller fits the bill perfectly. Once I set the four position dip switch in the remote to match the fan's switch positions, for me it was 'up, up, down, down' it worked perfectly. Now my father-in-law has air circulating in his master bedroom making it much more comfortable. So for the cost of little more than $15 dollars, this little remote is more than a very economical bargain if you've lost your remote or if it finally bellied up.

Worked for 23 months - Fan OFF now controls light
Bought back in October 2020 and for past few months the OFF for fan would turn on/off the lights. I bought a new remote and its working perfect again. Not sure why the other stopped but it was under 2 years. Hopefully I dont have to buy a new one every 2 years.

Customer Service Is Excellent
The remote control of the fan worked as it should. However, after 6 months, the remote worked only intermittently. I contacted the seller and told him about my problem. I got a quick reply where he indicated that it must be the remote control, not the receiver, and that he would send me a new one immediately. I received it within a couple of days, set the correct Pin code, and plugged in the batteries. It worked beautifully and has continued to do so for the last week. I am very happy with the responsiveness and the ease of doing business with this seller. THANKS!!!

Buy this!! Don't be hesitant due to the name brand! Read my review and look at my pics!
My old Hampton Bay remote took a s**t the other night. Unfortunately my fan/light is operated by the remote ONLY. So I went to change the 9V battery and the wires were withered and broke being that she’s almost 14 years old and only operated via a remote. So I decided to search online and saw many options for $20-$30 bucks. Decided to check Amazon and sure enough?..there it was! Also along with other options but sure enough I found a great replacement! Read some reviews and was a little unsure as there were quite a few options for sale especially “no name” items. I saw a remote that said “Hampton Bay” like my Original one. As I was about to buy it, I read what the reviewers said, it was FAKE?!? Being unsure I kept scrolling and I found this brand which I still cant pronounce lol. But I took a gamble. Today, less than 1.5 days later it arrived! Amazed!! Came in an awesome box too including a wall mount, and great quality too! Opened up the box, Installed a new 9V battery and it worked right away! I was completely shocked! As other reviewers mentioned programming, etc, I was leery. But this thing worked correctly as it should right out of its very well made box! If you’re debating buying this remote? Dont! I was hesitant just as YOU probably are due to its weird and unpronounceable name lol but who the eff cares?!? Its wonderful and for less than $16 bucks shipped in less than 2 days? You wont be disappointed!“Buy it Now!”
