100% Arrived Alive & Healthy
I’ve ordered these twice and both times 100% of the crickets arrived alive and healthy! Great bulk option for feeding reptiles. They definitely care about them arriving healthy as there are good sources in packaging and it’s ventilated for oxygen. Easy to unpack and place directly into cricket keeper. Please note: the crickets are loose once you open the box so unpack it inside the cricket keeper. I use a smaller storage tub with holes covered in screens for air. I actually used the screen from my first box of crickets I ordered.

Healthy crickets
The media could not be loaded. Received a box with healthy live crickets, a lot of them. I got many more than I ordered! The sizes were a bit all over the place (some quite large, some tiny and everything in between) but I can manage with them. I would prefer to order from someone who offers prompt shipping, with a ton of extras, than an exact size with only a few survivors. I will continue to purchase from Central Valley Crickets. Thank you for providing good quality critter foods!

Pretty much traumatized by this purchase.
Was not prepared to open a box of loose crickets, and did so in my car to check their quality and to see how many had survived since they were delivered via USPS and had sat in my postal box for a day and a half since I expected Prime delivery to my door. Once we realized they were loose, we took them outside and I grabbed our cricket keeper. It was Extremely difficult to get them from the box into the cricket keeper and they were jumping everywhere! While many seemed to have survived the shipping and it looked like they sent more than the 250 ordered, we lost probably close to 100 outdoors trying to get them into the keeper. We odered small/medium and many were huge! And some were extremely tiny. There was no size control what so ever. It would have been far better had they had been in some sort of container inside the box instead of loose. It would have also been nice to have some sort of warning on the box that it contained loose crickets so we didn't open the box in the car and was prepared to have crickets jumping at us from every direction! I probably will never buy from here again even tho the value really is good, just because of the difficulty with having free roaming crickets inside a cardboard box!

Good value not good pkg to open
Ok my lizard loves the crickets and you get a good amount for the price BUT beware do NOT ,NOT, NOT open the shipping box until you have it lowered into a larger tote/plastic bin breeder box. You get a box of crickets with no additional PKG inside to keep them in just open the box and bam!! You got 250 crickets in your face so yeah other than that my lizard loves them.

Fast shipper
I've ordered from her multiple times and for the most part most of them are alive when I get them. I feed to a baby dragon and a box turtle. I just wish I could get 500 of the sm/med and get them for a good price. All the ones I've found are large and that's to big for the baby. So this way is more costly because I have to do them just 250 at a time.

Will buy again!
There are no weird bugs in the box & the crickets stayed contained till I got to them, However any size cricket was included luckily my smaller frog will eat the tiny babies & the do seem to be dying off fast I feed them mainly lettuce & keep them in a 10 gallon

Too small and difficult packaging
Though it does say small and medium, the crickets that arrived were mostly minuscule. We have two large dragons hat can handle small as defined by the pet stores. These were just too tiny. Also, as the other review stated, these are in a box, in the shipping box. I wasn’t prepared for it, as I’ve received crickets before from here (and was really happy) it came in a plastic container with a lid, which is much more manageable. I still am not sure what to do with the box of baby crickets since we got rid of the cricket holder we previously had. This order was difficult. Maybe the demand is higher due to the pandemic, which could explain the different method of shipping and size, as I said we have had a good experience prior to this bad one.
