Doesn't really work - I threw it out. It's a hairspray, very dense in glue, but not dense enough in pigment. So it was very translucent, hardly even graying my hair to look salt and pepper. And yes, I shook the can A LOT. Plus it really smells awful as you spray it; seems it must be unusually poisonous. You would need to spray on so much to make white streaks like in the photo, that those streaks would be like stiff sticks, a totally different texture from the rest of your hair. Forget about coloring your entire head of hair white, unless you have extremely short hair and don't mind it looking painted, or as if you were wearing a plastic cap. The stuff did wash out easily though, and I REALLY used a lot, figuring I'd try my best to make it work since I was going to need to wash it off anyway. I think I used more than half the can before giving up. Thought I'd choke on the fumes, and all for naught. To just make your hair look gray? Or look old? Say for Halloween? Save your money and use talcum or baby powder. (Maybe flour would work - I haven't tried that.) A powder looks far more natural than this, allowing the strands of hair to stay soft and separated. This product worked as described. My child had to dress as an elderly person for the 100th day of school, and we used this on his hair. (His natural hair color is medium brown) Once dry, this product worked like hairspray, and the color lasted all day on my rambunctious child. Though the smell can be very strong when applying, the smell goes away quickly as it dries.Once the day was over, this product washed out completely with one wash. This was exactly what I was looking for.

Used to give some brown hair a few grey streaks for a play. Worked for this purpose, but don't think it would work to turn an entire head of hair white (unless you used several cans). It has a terrible smell that you will not want to breathe - cover face with towel and be close to an open window.

I was Dr.Nefario and you can see that the hairspray really added a ton of color to my hair. I have jet black hair and the white really showed up! It does smell REALLY bad though

Disappointed. I used for my daughter's Halloween costume. She was an elderly person. Her hair is a light to medium blonde naturally so I thought spraying the white color would be a fairly easy change over to appear "grey" as a little old lady would have. Not so. I sprayed the nearly the entire can trying to get white coloring out of it. I shook it over and over again thinking I need to make this work, why isn't the white color spraying out with the liquid and air?? The nozzle worked fine but there isn't enough white color inside the can or the color pigment they used to make this product is very week. I ended up getting some dry shampoo that we had laying around that had a "whiter" look .

I was afraid the white wouldn't show because my daughter has blonde hair, but it showed up great.
