Felt the need to write a review on this
I had the standard white Lowes vent hood but it cracked when I went to screw it tighter to the siding after coming loose. It was very thin plastic. So, I ordered this and this is not your ordinary Chinese, skimp on materials vent hood. It is very well made. So much so, that you see bleeds from the mold injection. It's thick and sturdy. Unfortunately, it doesn't technically fit on your standard vent tube from other vent hood setups because of the tabs on the inside. Guess you need to buy their tube as well. I just shaved down the tabs and slid it on and screwed to the wall. Looks good cause its brown as well. And for those asking, it does come with the little flopping lid and it closes nicely with no gaps.

I'm not sure about this product. To be determined. I love that it covers the vent, and definitely serve its purpose, however, I'm not sure about the sturdiness of the cage. There are very small plastics inserts that pop into holes at the bottom of the opening, if you happen to get a very aggressive critter, it doesn't seem like it would be too hard for them to break into the caged piece. We will see how it works. Other than that, I love the fact that this brown blends really well to the exterior of our stained wood exterior. It's nice not having a white plastic cover hanging off the side of the house.Thanks!

Inexpensive and effective!!
I built a shed and it needed some ventilation... and that would keep bugs out too. Well, I ended up putting in cheep green scour pads in the hoods because tiny bugs made it through (tinier holes would be nice, but likely cost more). Doubt this was an anticipated use for these, so I didn't demean them for that!! Price wise though, I couldn't/didn't find anything less expensive that would work.
