My cats love this
It is easy to put together and my kitties love it. Don't put it near where you sleep, though. They'll play with that bell all night...

Not too Sturdy, holes need to be larger but cute
I have purchased this product the past few years at Walmart but they no longer have it. The entire item was Polyester and the holes were a little larger but this one seems to be a soft material just on the top and the holes are smaller, I have a big kitty. It makes it hard for her to balance on the top of it if she jumps up. Wish they would have kept the entire Hideaway polyester and more sturdy and the holes larger. Bella still loves it and sleeps in it and scratches with the post. The entire product isn't really that sturdy even when you tighten the pieces.

Spend your money on something better
We took in a shelter cat last month and bought this for him a day after. The original plan was to buy one set and then build him a bigger condo with the variety of sets offered for separate purchase. After taking it out of the box and seeing the cheap construction we then decided to "wait and see". This set lasted all of three weeks. The cloth is very thin. The plastic frame is very flexible(wobbly!) and cheaply made and actually came with "spare" rods for when they break (not a good sign!). Our cat is an adult cat weighing 11 pounds. I'm not sure how a smaller cat would fare as the material itself just did not stand up to cat claws. Within a week there were holes from where he'd used his claws for balance on and in the thing (it is surprisingly wobbly for a cube. And two weeks after that those holes just ripped through the flimsy cloth and now the bottom is out. The scratching post is about the cheapest I've ever seen. It is the sisal wrapped around a CARDBOARD roll! There was nothing substantial for him to scratch on and he gave up trying. Also want to note that any time he tried to scratch the whole thing would turn over on him. He has enjoyed lounging on the top of it, however, given how the bottom has ripped out I think we are going to toss it for his safety. I do not want to have to cut him out of it as another reviewer has said she had to do for her cat. For what we spent on this thing we could have had one of the really nice carpet covered wooden kitty condos AND a real scratching post. They are far sturdier. We just thought this thing looked like more fun. Will not buy another product from this line again. Complete waste of money.

cheap fabric only thing usable is the plastic frame
Got this product at walmart for $ 19 the fabric is terrible and thin like a dollar tree tote bag. I threw it away after a week and made a hammock like thing with an old pillow case. It is much cuter and my cats love it. And I can wash the pillow case without it tearing to shreds. The only useful part is the plastic frame which can be added on to.

Disappointed
When I recieved this item, it was missing 2 of the rods. The first time my cst tried to use the scratching post, it fell over on her, Had been thinking oh buying more of the set but am changing my mind. I guess my husband will have to build some kind of heavier base. She hasn't gone near it since.

Grrrrrrrreat!
I bought this for $18 at Walmart. It seems flimsy but it really isn't! My cat loves it and it's stood the test of time. And by the way, the "spare rods" aren't in case it breaks, they're to use with expansions. I highly recommend this product for any cat, though I wouldn't get it if you have more than 1 cat because it isn't sturdy enough for that.

the external toys are functionally useless. If the cat swats at or pulls on ...
I put this together in 5 minutes, it's very simple. The actual fabric cube is lightweight and does not reach all the way to the ground without the cat's weight. This was a problem for my skittish kitty, it scared him and he turned right around and got out. It's also so lightweight, the external toys are functionally useless. If the cat swats at or pulls on one of the balls without any weight on the inside, it can topple over. I think, even if you buy all the add ons, it would be just a larger, very light unit. If you do buy, find a way to add some weight to this or anchor it to a heavier base.I purchased mine at Walmart, $18.00!
