Review: Very "Solid" and very functional... - I preface my review saying that to take full advantage of this calf raise platform and for safety reasons, you have to have some way to balance yourself. I use mine with two 50 lbs bands around the base and up and around my shoulders to add resistance to my calf raises. My platform is placed just inside a doorway where my pull-up bar is. I lightly hold onto my pull-up bar while doing my calf raises. I also warm up my legs with no resistance, except my body-weight, before I go jogging. This platform really stretches your lower leg. I love it and my Achilles tendons and calves have greatly improved in strength and flexibility. This is one sturdy and portable piece of equipment. I Highly Recommend this for lower leg exercises. I also use the incline squat platform. I love it. I use one 50lb band underneath the platform and pull the band over the ends of my trap bar and add 100lbs to 300lbs of weights to do squats. As you can see I use jumpstretch and iron woody bands to my workout routines. This platform is perfect to use weights and bands together. I'd give it a higher rating if I could. It's somewhat a pricey piece of equipment, but it is worth it.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: The picture shows the calf raise portion to be the same diamond-patterned steel as the squat side instead of the grip tape.  Can anyone confirm this?**
A: Per the manufacturer Body-Solid today (8/27/15):  "Diamond plate on both (calf portion and the squat side).  The grip tape pads kept curling on the older one."

**Q: What is the angle of the ramp (in degrees)?**
A: Not sure, but I am six foot, and it allows for a full calf stretch at the bottom of a rep.

**Q: What are the dimensions?  If a person has large feet can he or she stand comfortably on the surface?**
A: Jimmy, the dimensions are 18" W x 6.1/2" H. I use a size 12 shoe, and I have no problems when I use heavy weight. It's comfortable for me when I use it for standing or seating calf raises. And the angle lift it has is great when I do squats.

**Q: Are we supposed to do the calf raise on the quarter round side of the block because the block is really high?**
A: I always do the calf raise on the lower side.  Quarter round side is to high for me.
With a lot of weight on your shoulders, doing the calf raise on the quarter round side could cause injury if
you lost your balance.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great design, well made but priced a bit high

The overall build and paint finish work is great, the curved calf raise side is the best you could hope to find and far better than you are going to make at home. Platforms are well made, decently non slip and the rubber feet keep it in place on our tile floor. The only downside construction wise is the nuts and bolts that hold the two sides together are genuine Chinesium which manages to be both soft and brittle at the same time, one washer broke from falling off the counter but there was an extra and the nuts/bolts are soft enough that pliers will dent them. This doesn't matter all that much because of the job they are doing they won't be subjected to much force, just don't crank down on the hardware during assembly and it will be fine.
