Review: I Never Thought I’d Love a Pencil Sharpener This Much - A pencil sharpener is probably one of the most overlooked art accessories, but this thing is amazing. I didn’t expect to be this impressed by a manual sharpener. One of my favorite things about it is how little pencil it wastes compared with some electric sharpeners I’ve used. It gives me a nice, even point without feeling like it’s eating half the pencil every time I sharpen it. I also love that it came in red, and it’s incredibly easy to use. The mechanism actually grips and holds the pencil while you sharpen it, so I can basically say, “Look Mom, no hands!” once the pencil is inserted. Besides being oddly satisfying, that also helps keep the sharpening even and reduces unnecessary waste. It’s simple, well designed, and works extremely well. I definitely recommend it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Read This First: Easy to Use

There are a lot of reviews written for this thing already, but some people don’t write accurate reviews, because they don’t know how this thing works as there are no instructions on how to use and maintain it. I just received this manual KH-20 Mitsubishi Pencil Sharpener. I push the red button in to get a blunt pencil tip for Arteza Expert watercolor pencils. I’m going to try sharpening some of the Caran d’Ache Luminance (wax based) and Faber Castell Polychromos (oil based) to extra sharp points tonight with the red button pushed in, then give updates later on drawing results. Also, I’m going to try them on some Faber Castell graphite pencils when they ship to me. The shaving tray can be pulled out by grabbing the sides in the front of the sharpener. Also, the shaving tray can be pushed out from the back viewing window. The single helical blade can be removed in the back for cleaning by twisting the round textured wheel. Counter clockwise to remove. The part that clamps the pencil does not have metal teeth like other brands of manual sharpeners. It doesn’t leave teeth marks on the barrel of the pencil. It has three rubberized clamps that hold the pencil in place. Rotate clockwise to sharpen pencil. So far, so good. It’s everything I wanted. It’s affordable. Very smooth operation and great results. I love it. I’m not sure about durability, but the unit is made to be maintainable. I would check and clean the helical blades when needed.
